Vascular dementia is an acquired, generalized , and often progressive impairment of cognitive function that was induced by cerebral fuction disorder caused by diverse cerebral vascular disease. It includes multi-infarct dementia (MID), small vessel dementia .hemorrhage cerebral vascular dementia. Lobo has made study on over 65- year-old European of 11 crowds. This study found that morbidity rate of dementia was 6.4% through standardized age. In which, AD was 4. 4% and VD was 1.6%.Most studies in the past years found that VD of old age dementia in east countries was more than 50% which related to high morbidity rate of stroke. However, recent researches discovered that the rate of AD and VD decreased in these countries. ZHANG Zhenxin reported AD of old age dementia was 63. 1% and VD was 26.8%, which was similar with the white, morbidity rate of dementia in over 55-year-old was 3. 4%, in which, AD was 2. 2% and VD was 0. 9%. It increased with aging, VD was 1% in 60-64 old people and 40% in 80 old people, morbidity rate of VD has risen since the society becomes aging and cerebral vascular disease increases.
