Objective:To observe the conditions of oxidative stress after stroke onset via the ox-LDL level in patients with acute ischemic stroke, evaluation of patients with stroke ox-LDL and stroke type and severity of relevance. Methods:One hundred and eight-six patients hospitalized and diagnosed as acute ischemic stroke in yanbian University Affiliated Hospital from February 2014 to June were enrolled, including 130 male patients and 56 female patients at average age of 63.00±10.91 years old. The ox-LDL test and relative factors were analyzed (including SSS-TOAST, NIHSS, gender, age, ethic groups, smoking, drinking, exercises, diet, the degree of atherosclerosis, CRP, LDL and HDL).The correlation between ox-LDL in patients with SSS-TOAST; the correlation between nervous system NIHSS score and HDL/LDL and ox-LDL; and the correlation between different degrees of atherosclerosis and ox-LDL in patients with acute ischemic stroke were evaluated using EXECL-created database and SPSS19.0 software.Results:1.Proportion of SSS-TOAST of various types of strokes among patients with ischemic stroke:The category of large-artery atherosclerosis consists of 48 patients (25.8%), cardiogenic embolism of 12 patients (6.5%), small artery occlusion of 57 patients (30.6%), other etiology 9 patients (4.8%), and 60 patients (30.3%) with uncertain etiology.2.The correlation between ox-LDL and CRP in patients with acute ischemic stroke and types of strokes:There were differences between the large-artery atherosclerosis (62.92 ± 5.466), small artery occlusion (60.74 ± 6.071) with cardiogenic embolism(50.57± 11.757), other etiology(44.89±24.144), uncertain etiology(48.24 ±15.823). There were differences between the large-artery atherosclerosis CRP levels(32.77± 11.015) with other etiology(2.11 ±0.371), uncertain etiology(9.71 ± 1.898).3.Correlation between nervous system NIHSS score and ox-LDL and HDL/LDL: NIHSS score was classified as three groups, including mild (<4 points), medium (4-15 points) and sever (>15 points) groups. Ox-LDL had differences among the mild (44.31 ±16.701), medium (59.39±4.243) and sever(67.06±4.181). HDL/LDL had differences between mild (0.51 ±0.274) with medium (0.41 ±0.143) and severe (0.37±0.137) groups. There were no differences between severe (0.37 ±0.137) and medium (0.41±0.143) groups.4.Correlation between ox-LDL and different gender, age, ethic groups, smoking, drinking, exercises and diet:There were no differences between 130 male patients (55.54±13.332) and 56 female patients (56.57±13.556) and there were also no differences between 82 Korean patients (56.29±12.841) and 104 Han patients (55.51±13.827); differences between 64 non-smokers (50.28±17.084) with 60 smoking 2-10 years (59.65+6.907) and smoking more than 10 years(57.85± 11.978), as well as 47 regular heavy drinking and other; 135 patient doing exercises (53.69±14.595) and 51 patients not doing exercise (61.57±6.678);there were no differences between those who eat more vegetables, fruits.5. Correlation between different atherosclerosis severity of ox-LDL:different atherosclerosis severity was classified as four groups, carotid represented including normal(IMT< 1.0mm), thickening(1.0mm<IMT<1.2mm), plaque (IMT≥1.2mm and the rate of stenosis<50%), stenosis (IMT≥1.2mm and the rate of stenosis≥ 50%);there were differences between 78 normal(50.85±17.466) with 50 thickening(55.53±6.733),37 plaque (61.71±5.528),21 stenosis(64.88±8.141);as well as thickening and plaque, stenosis;there were no differences between plaque and stenosis.Conclusion:1. Uncertain etiology is the main types of acute ischemic stroke.Meanwhile, ox-LDL is closely associated of acute ischemic stroke.2.NIHSS score is closely related to ox-LDL and HDL/LDL level.3. Smoking, drinking and exercise affect on ox-LDL levels.4.There were no correlation between ox-LDL and different gender, ethic groups, diet.5. Different atherosclerosis severity is closely related to ox-LDL.
