| Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect and clarify the mechanism of strengthening the spleen and stomach on chronic pharyngitis of spleen-stomach qi vacuity type, to explore the theoretical basis and method of chronic pharyngitis with Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), therefore to offer new ideas and lay foundation for development of effective new prescriptions and patent medicines for the treatment of chronic pharyngitis.Methods From March 2015 to March 2016,60 cases suffering from chronic pharyngitis who met the criteria were collected. All the patients were randomly divided into two groups. Patients of Group One (treatment group) (n=30) were treated with Strengthening the spleen and stomach , while those of Group Two (control group) (n=30) only with Sijunzi particles. The course duration was 7 days. All patients received treatment of 3 courses (21 days). Clinical symptoms, signs and adverse reactions were recorded at the following time-points:day 0,7,14 and 21 of the treatment. The therapeutic effect was statistically analyzed.Results and Conclusion Both methods can effectively treat chronic pharyngitis The total effective rate of the treatment group was 100.00%, including completely healing in 4 patients, significant effectiveness in 23, and effectiveness in 2. The total effective rate of the control group was 83.33%, of them one patient was completely cured,2 had significant effect,20 had some success, and 5 patients had no effect. No adverse reactions had been observed in the study.Significance The study confirmed that the strengthening the spleen and stomach Decotion had significant effect in the treatment of spleen-stomach qi vacuity type chronic pharyngitis and could significantly relief various manifestations and signs of the patients. And it has proved that this Decotion was reliable and safe for the treatment of spleen-stomach qi vacuity type chronic pharyngitis. |
