Objectives:To study the intervention effect of Kangshuan No.1 on atherosclerosis (AS) rat serum lipids, liver and kidney and the protective effect of oxidative stress pathway NF-κ B/iNOS/NO signaling pathway, to study the role of anti AS anti thrombus one possible pathway.Animal:Forty-two male SD rats were randomly divided into high dose group of Chinese medicine(group a), middle dose group of Chinese medicine(group b), low dose group of Chinese medicine(group c), positive drug group(group d), combination of traditional chinese and western medicine group(group e), normal group(group f) and model group(group g),6 rats in every group.Methods:High lipid-diet and intraperitoneal injection of Vitamin were given to establish the atherosclerpsis(AS) model.Group a, group b, group c, group d, group e were intragastrically administered medicine from the tenth week. After 5 weeks,all the rats were sacrificed for deteminnation the levels of blood lipid.Detection of biochemical indexes of serum TC, NO,TEG, LDL, HDL, ALT, AST, CRE, immunoblotting (Western Blotting) for detection of NF kappa B and iNOS protein expression.Results:(1)Compared with f group, g group, rats’TG,TC, LDL, ALT, AST levels were higher than that of group f (P< 0.01), vascular HE staining formed typical AS manifestations, liver sections were stained with HE to form severe fatty liver.(2)Compared with the g group, NF kappa B iNOS, and NO with the Chinese medicine group dose increased and down expression; aortic HE staining compared with the model group, the number of foam cells, liver tissue sections were not significantly different.(3)Compared with the d group, the e group had a clear reduction of NF kappa B iNOS, and NO.Conclusion:(1)Kangshuan No.1 can decrease the level of serum low density lipoprotein, inhibit the arterial vascular remodeling of AS rats, and protect the liver function and renal function in the AS model.(2)Kangshuan No.1 may play an anti AS role by regulating the expression of NF kappa B iNOS, and NO in the oxidative stress pathway.
