Clinical Research Of Modified Shuganhewei Drinks Treating Functional Dyspepsia(Liver-stomach Heat Syndrome)

Background:Functional dyspepsia(FD) is a kind of functional gastrointestinal disease, its main clinical symptoms come from the stomach and duodenum, main symptom is continuous or intermittent recurrent aepigastric pain or fullness, early satiety, belching, nausea, vomiting, reflux acid,etc.And no inspection can be used to explain the happening of the above symptoms. Most western medicine used in clinical is gastric prokinetic agent, In recent years, traditional Chinese medicine shows its advantages in the treatment of FD gradually.Not only can it alleviate the symptoms, but reduce the side effects at the same time, That makes it become a new trend for the treatment of FD.Objective:This research according to Modified ShuGanHeWei Drinks,my tutor professor Xiong Xiuping’s clinical experience drink,aimed to observe how will the drink (Artemisia Capillaris Thunb 10 g, Weeping Forsythia 15 g, White Peony Root 30 g, Glycyrrhiza 3 g, malt 30g、Tangerine Peel 10g、Pinellia ternate 10g、Gardenia 10g、Cortex Moutan 10g) affect FD patients’(liver-stomach heat syndrome) symptoms, physical signs, etc. We expected to collected some information of the clinical effectiveness and safety through this randomized trial research, to provide a new treatment method for the clinical treatment of the disease, and explore its action mechanism initially.Methods:The research collected 41 cases of FD patients (liver-stomach heat syndrome)between April 2015 to December 2015, from ChangShu Hospital of Chinese Medicine,and divided them randomly into two groups,21 cases for the treatment group,20 cases for the control group.The treatment group adopts modified ShuGanHeWei Drinks,the control group was treated by Domperidone Tablets,four weeks as a treatment period.Before and after one period,we recorded the comprehensive efficacy,symptom scores and the NDI-SF of both groups.Results:1.Clinical efficacy:according to the traditional Chinese syndrome evaluating standards,in the treatment group,10 cases were cured,7 had obvious advantage,3were effective,and 1 had no advance,the total efficiency rate was 95.2%.3 cases were cured,6 had obvious advantage,5 were effective,and 6 had no advance in the control group,the total efficiency rate was 70%.Through statistical analysis,P<0.001, suggests that the treatment group in the aspect of clinical curative effect to improve overall effect is better than the control group.2.TCM syndrome integral comparison:curative effect in the diagnosis of gastric cavity,stomach calor,dry mouth with bitter taste, agitation, belching, pantothenic acid and bad appetite, the treatment group were better than that of control group (P< 0.05 or P< 0.01) significantly.In the part of the total effective rate (elimination coefficient+ efficient rate), the treatment group is also better than that of control group (P< 0.05).In terms of noisy of stomach the total effective rate showed no obvious differences (P> 0.05), which meant disappearing rate had no obvious difference. All thoses data prompted that the treatment group and control group were significantly eliminate and improve the diagnosis of gastric cavity, stomach calor,dry mouth with bitter taste, agitation, belching, pantothenic acid and bad appetite,but the treatment group is better, and in terms of noisy of stomach, two groups were just similar to each other.3. NDI-SF score comparison:There was no statistically significant difference (P> 0.05)between the treatment group and the control group in NDI-SF scores before this study, this two groups were comparable. The NDI-SF scores after study of both treatment group and the control group were significantly decreased (P< 0.01), and the comparison between the two groups had obvious difference (P< 0.05),showing that both can improving symptoms of patients with anxiety disorders, and the effect of the treatment group is better than the control one.ConclusiontModified ShuGanHeWei Drinks have obvious curative effect for functional dyspepsia patients(liver-stomach heat syndrome),that has better effects in improving the comprehensive efficacy of FD patients, TCM symptoms integral, NDI-SF sore than using Domperidone Tablets of the control group. Modified ShuGanHeWei Drinks were proved to improve symptoms of patients with anxiety disorders to a certain extent, improve the curative effect and helps to prevent recurrence of FD. In the process of the study, obvious adverse reactions and side effects did not appear, which is exactly the preliminary evidence to prove the safety of the drink, and the value to promote that.
