| ObjectiveDizziness and vertigo is involved in different disease as a common symptom with high recognization. Refractory and repeatability can be seen in the process of clinical treatments. No matter diagnosed in Chinese or western medicine, it has a certain understanding of vertigo. We investigate the cases of the impatience of emergency ward in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine over the past year. We can increase the recognization of the epidemiology of vertigo by these retrospective studies, which can also reflect the diagnosis and treatment of vertigo in our hospital.MethodsAccording to the objective involves above, we collected the information of impatience, who was diagnosed in vertigo, in emergency ward of the First Affiliated Clinical Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine during the 1st January to 31st December in 2015. The details of impatience including the general information, cause, examination, diagnosis and so on were recorded in a questionnaire. We analyzed the data on the questionnaires, and summarized the solar terms, gender, age distribution, causes, incentives of the disease by charts directly. The conclusions of Chinese medical analyzing and differentiating and therapy of vertigo can be learned to instruct the clinical works.ResultsAccording to the conclusion from my investigation, we can summary some characteristics of epidemiology: ①Female, especially aged female had a highly morbidity. In western medicine, it’s related to the level of estrogen. But for traditional Chinese medicine, it is up to the physiological function about liver;②Vertigo and dizziness happens in the Autumn. The Qi of lung comes inside the body, which reduces the defenses outside the skin. At that time, six exogenous pathogenic factors invasion clear orifices causes vertigo or dizziness. Hypertension, cervical spondylosis and smoking was found in the investigation that effects most to patience, which are involved most to the patience’s habits. In result, we should educate the patience to a better habit that can show them a healthier life. About the therapy, western medical is majored in expectant and primary disease treatment. In difference, traditional Chinese medical has its own syndrome differentiation and treatment. Corresponding to sputum and excessive of the liver-yang, Banxiabaizhutianma soup and Tianmagouteng soup was treated as the major therapy. Wind-sputum, wind-fire, sputum-stasis and depletion of liver and kidney was found in the investigation. So we should pay more attention to these pathogenic factor while we diagnose patience. What’s more, strengthening the foundation is also important in our treatment. The limits of retrospective study make the investigation deficiency. Design the prospective study to consummate the result, which can instruct the clinical diagnose and treatment.Conclusion①The importance of stasis blood and other pathological factors, and all the pathological factors’ relationship with sputum should be considered while we differentiate syndrome. We should take the temporary treatments and also the basic-consolidate one. ②Accordance with the result of the investigation, Traditional Chinese measures apply less in the treatment. Considering its effective, we should use different Traditional Chinese measures to the suitable patience, who need effective treatment to reduce their pain.③Western therapy is majored in symptomatic treatment and primary-disease treatment. So we pay less attention to analysis the details of western diagnosis and treatment, which cannot instruct the clinical works. ④ The efficacy of dizziness and vertigo is significant but recurrence with integrative medicine. We should strengthen the propaganda and education to patience, because of the relationship of the attack of disease and the habits. On the others hands, we should consummate the follow-up work, which can help patience consolidate the therapy, and also can find out the evolved law of the disease to prevent the relapse. |
