The Clinical Study Of Wenyang Tongluo Acupuncture In Treatment Of Hyperlipidemia

ObjectiveTo study of the clinical effect on treating the patients with hyperlipidemia with Wenyang Tongluo acupuncture therapy. To provide new ideas and objective evidence for treating the hyperlipidemia.MethodsWith the random number table method,90 cases were divided into three groups which are blank group, control group and treatment group. There were 30 cases in the blank group,30cases in the treatment group, and 30 cases in the control group. The blank group were treated with simple diet control, and the control group were received daily oral 10mg atorvastatin, while the treatment group were treated by acupuncture combine with granule moxibustion therapy, once a day, six times a week and rest on Sunday. The major acupoints for acupuncture were Pishu(BL20), Shenshu(BL23), Mingmen(Du4), Zhongwan(RN12), Sanyinjiao(SP6), Zusanli (ST36) and other acupoints according to TME syndrome type.The acupoints for granule moxibustion werePishu(BL 20), Shenshu(BL23) and Mingmen (Du4).After treating for eight weeks, the three groups were compared with the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) Symptoms scores, Body mass Index(BMI) and the blood indexes including the Four Items of Blood Lipin, Alanine aminotransferaso(ALT), Aspartate transaminase(AST)、Creatine kinase(CK). All the collected data were analyzed under SPSS 19.0 statistical software.Results87 patients’ treatments were finished in this study. NO patient in the blank group was dropped out with 1 patient in the control group and 2 patients in treatment group.1. Before the treatment, the gender, age, length of illness, the scores of TCM Symptoms, BMI and the blood indexes including each subjectof three groups were compared, there were no significant difference in all groups, which means comparable.2. After eight weeks of, treatment,0 cases were cured,0 cases were marked effective,8 cases were effective and 22 cases were ineffective in the blank group, the total effective rate was 26.67%.2 cases were cured,11 cases were marked effective. In the control group,14 cases were effective and 2 cases were ineffective with the total effective rate of93.10%. While in the treatment group,1 cases were cured,8 cases were marked effective,16 cases were effective and 3 cases were ineffective, the total effective rate was 89.29%. It had significant difference. The effect of the treatment group and the control group was better than the blank group, while the effect was the same between the treatment group and the control group3. After the four courses of treatment, the clinical curative effect of TCM Symptoms were compared. In the blank group,1 cases were cured,1 cases were marked effective,18 cases were effective and 10 cases were ineffective, the total effective rate was 66.67%.0 cases were cured,1 cases were marked effective,15 cases were effective and 15 cases were ineffective in the control group, the total effective rate was 55.17%. While in the treatment group,1 cases were cured,9 cases,were marked effective,18 cases were effective and 0 cases were ineffective, the total effective rate was 100%. It means that the effect of the treatment group was better than the former two group, and it had significant difference.4. After the treatment, in the blank group, the total cholesterol(TC)and triglyeeride(TG) were subdued, but the effect of the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-c) were insufficient. The other two groups’ indicators of the Four Items of Blood Lipin had decreased. Meaning that the three groups were significantly effective on treating the hyperlipidemia. But the treatment and the control groups’ indicators had decreased more markedly than the blank group. There was insignificant difference between the treatment group and the control group.5. Comparing the three groups’s BMI, all of them were significantly increased, while the treatment group were more significantly than the other two groups.6. The indexes of ALT, AST and CK in blood were compared, showing that the control group was significantly increased, however, the other two groups were insignificantly increased. It means that Wenyang Tongluo acupuncture in treatment of hyperlipidemia was more security.7. The scores of TCM Symptoms were compared. The scores of the treatment group were lower than the other two groups. There were significant differences. Wenyang Tongluo acupuncture therapy in hyperlipidemia significantly improved the scores of TCM Symptoms. ConclusionThere were same effectiveness in treating hyperlipidemia patients with Wenyang Tongluo acupuncture therapy and taking atorvastatin, and there were better than simple diet control. In effect on ALT, AST and CK, takeing atorvastatin was significantly higher than that of WenyangTongluo acupuncture therapy and simple diet control. In reducing body mass index and.improving the TCM symptoms, Wenyang Tongluo acupuncture were better than that of taking atorvastatin and simple diet control. It was safe, effective and no side effects on treating the hyperlipidemia with Wenyang Tongluo acupuncture therapy, worthing to do more study and spread.
