Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics, diagnose, therapeu tic approaches and outcomes of fungal endocarditis (FE)Methods:The clinical profiles of all FE patients, who were treated i n First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from 2011 to 2 016, were analyzed with Epidemiology, clinical manifestation, Auxiliary e xamination (laboratory examination, chest X-ray, electrocardiogram ultraso und cardiogram), treatment and prognosis. All cases were documented infe ctious endocarditis (IE)based on Duke’s new criteria and fungi detected in microbiological studies.Results:1.367 IE cases were collected, including 11 FE cases,97 BE cases and 259 pathogens not detected cases.2.In 11 cases of FE, middle-a ged primarily. Most patients had underlying heart disease history, or lowi mmunity.3. Lack of specificity Clinical manifestations, most of the patient s were attacked with fever (45.5%)or embolization (45.5%) for starting sy mptoms, the heart enlargement (38.4%), heart murmur (72.7%) and multip leorgan dysfunction (45.5%) can also be the clinical manifestations, and th e diagnosis time is long.4,45.5% of patients’ WBC was increased,90. 9% of patients had anemia, Bacterial pathogens were candida,54.6% were nearly smooth candida, and most sensitive to common antifungal drugs. 5.Common ECG findings was sinus tachycardia (27.2%) and myocardial i nfarction, change (27.2%).6.The echocardiography showed that vegetations most growthed in the left heart system.54.6% formed one vegetations a nd 45.5% of them in 21 mm-31 mm size.81.8% combined with mitral insufficiency or tricuspid valve closed not completed.7.Ten patients were treated by pure drug.90% patients were treated by fluconazole or vorico nazole, part of them combined use of antibiotics and Some needed warfar in anticoagulation and vascular active drug treatment.3 cases were impro vedwhen led hospital.1 case was treated by drugs combined surgery and was cured when led hospital. Conclusion:FE is one of the serious deep fungus infection. Most pat ients had underlying heart disease history and were attacked with emboliz ation for starting symptoms. Bleeding and multiple organ dysfunction was common to be found. Vegetations were very large and most growthed in t he left heart system. Nearly smooth candida is common pathogenic bacteri aof FE. Pure antifungal drug treatment was non effective. Right to choose to the effective antifungal drugs and timely surgical treatment was the ke y to successful treatment.
