Objective To investigage the radical nephrectomy’s curative effect in patients with renal cell carcinoma(RCC) between stage pT2a and pT2b,depending on their postoperative circumstances we can estimate the prognosis. Methods The clinical and pathological data of 95 cases(58 cases of pT2a and 37 cases of pT2b) who accepted radical nephrectomy were retrospectively analyzed in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University between January 2008 and July 2015. Univariate analysis was used to estimate the prognosis of the patients between stage pT2a and pT2b,including sex, age, tumor position, tumor differentiation, neoplasm recurrence, metastasis and postoperative survival rate. Results The univariate analysis showed that patient’s sex, age, tumor position, tumor differentiation and postoperative survival rate had negative prognostic significance (P>0.05). While neoplasm recurrence and metastasis were positive prognostic significant (P<0.05),the rate of neoplasm recurrence and metastasis in stage pT2b were higher than that in stage pT2a.Conclusions The rate of neoplasm recurrence and metastasis in stage pT2b were higher than that in stage pT2a.But it couldn’t confirm that the postoperative survival rate in stage pT2a or pT2b were different.
