ObjectiveFor better understanding degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis(DLS), this study reviews advances in mechanism of DLS in both modern medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. Due to absence of targeted study, this study is mainly on effecacy and mechanism of DLS treated by 4-dimensional traction, providing new ideas for treating degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis(DLS).MethodsThis study reviewed advances in mechanism and treatments of DLS in both modern medicine and traditional chineses medicine. This is a prospective randomized controlled trial.64 subjects with DLS were randomly divided into treatment group(32 subjects) and control group(32 subjects), treated by 4-dimensional traction and pelvic traction. After treatment, Oswestry disability index(ODI), visual analogue scales(VAS) and the rate of slippage will be compared between treatment group and control group.ResultsODI and VAS of two groups in post-treatment and follow-up were significantly better than that before treatment (P<0.01). The improvement of ODI and VAS of 4-dimensional traction group were significantly different better than that of pelvic traction group (P<0.01). No significant differences were found in pre-treatraent, post-treatment and follow-up at the rate of slippage of pelvic traction group(P>0.05). Significant differences of the rate of slippage of 4-dimensional traction group were found in those three different periods, the rate in post-treatment was better than that in follow-up and pre-treatment(P<0.01), while the rate in follow-up was better than that in pre-treatment (P<0.05).Conclusion4-dimensional traction is more effective to improve clinical symptoms of DLS than pelvic traction. Curative effect in follow-up remained satisfactory. Pelvic traction had no effect on the rate of slippage, whereas 4-dmentional traction reduced the rate significantly. The rate in follow-up was better than that before treatment.
