Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Dry Eye Of Stagnation-heat In Liver Channel With Modified Xiaoyao Powder Combined With Traditional Chinese Medicine Hot Package

Objective: To observe comprehensive therapeutic effect of Modified Xiaoyao Powder combined with traditional Chinese medicine hot package treatment in dry eye of stagnation-heat in liver channel.Method: Using the method of parallel randomized controlled study, choose 100 cases of patients with dry eyes of stagnation-heat in liver channel, and divided randomly them into treatment and control groups. The treatment group is treated with sodium hyaluronate eye drops added with administration of modified Xiaoyao Powder combined with traditional Chinese medicine hot package, while the control is treated with sodium hyaluronate eye drops. All groups are treated for 7 days as 1 course, 4courses in total. Follow up for 7 days, and observe total score of patients’ clinical symptoms, Break up time, Tear meniscus height, Schirmer I test and Corneal fluorescein staining at the beginning of the group division, half visit window and the end of test, separately.Results: During the observation, 5 cases were eliminated, the final number of cases was 95, including 46 cases in the treatment group and 49 cases in the control group.(1) The result of baseline data analysis showed that there is no significant difference between two groups before the test in sex, age, disease course, total score of clinical symptoms, Break up time, Tear meniscus height, Schirmer I test and Corneal fluorescein staining(P>0.05).(2) After comparing the total score of clinical symptoms of the two groups before and after the test, both decreased in two groups(the treatment group(P<0.01)control group(P<0.01)). Compared between two group after the test, the decrease oftotal score of clinical symptoms from the treatment group was better than that from the control group(P<0.05).(3) After comparing main indicators of two groups before and after the test,Break up time of treatment group prolonged(P<0.01), Tear meniscus height increased(P<0.01), Schirmer I test increased(P<0.01) and Corneal fluorescein staining improved(P<0.01); Break up time of the control group prolonged(P<0.01), Tear meniscus height improved(P<0.01). Schirmer I test increased(P<0.01) but Corneal fluorescein staining was not significantly different(P>0.05). compared two groups after the test, Break up time was longer from the treatment group than that from the control group(P<0.05); Tear meniscus height between treatment group and the control group showed no significant difference(P>0.05); Schirmer I test increased more from treatment group than that from the control group(P<0.05); Corneal fluorescein staining improved better from treatment group than that from the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Sodium hyaluronate eye drops added with administration of modified Xiaoyao Powder combined with traditional Chinese medicine hot package was effective in treatment of dry eye of stagnation-heat in liver channel, as evidenced by improvement of clinical symptoms,Break up time, Tear meniscus height, Schirmer I test and Corneal fluorescein staining. It has a relatively ideal effect compared to the simple treatment of sodium hyaluronate eye drops.2.The treatment of dry eye of stagnation-heat in liver channel with modified Xiaoyao Powder combined with traditional Chinese medicine hot package was safe.
