Objective:Adoptes acupuncture and dermal needle on treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(CSR). Reseacher randomly establishes treatment group and control group, by observing changes of symptoms and function questionnaire of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy and short-form of Mc Gill pain questionnaire(SF-MPQ) after different treatments and making comparison of treatment effect between two groups, objectively evaluates the clinical efficacy of using acupuncture and dermal needle on treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy.Method:Selection conforms to the diagnostic criteria of cases of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. Resercher divides seleted patients into treatment group and control group according to the random number table for 30 cases each. Treatment group uses “flat wrist and erect finger acupuncture anipulation” with dermal needle sticking on the bladder meridian of foot-taiyang. Dermal needle stabs on skin to flushing but not bleeding. Control group uses seat traction treatment method. The traction weight conforms the degree of comfort. Each group conducts treatment 30 minutes every time, 1 time per day, 6 times per course, 2 courses total. The second course continus in 2 days after the first course finished. After all treatments finished, compares datas including symptoms and function questionnaire of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, abilities to work and life, the function of hand, signs, total score, pain rating index(PRI), visual analogue scale(VAS), present pain intensity(PPI) and aggregate scores in SF-MPQ among pre-treatment, the first course treatment and the second course treatment, then analyses datas and makes curative effect evaluation. Result:(1)Scores after first course treatment: after first course treatment, differences of datas including symptoms in symptoms and function questionnaire of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, signs, the function of hand and total score between two groups are statistiaclly significant(P<0.05). Difference of SF-MPQ scores is significant significant(P<0.05). Datas including the improvement of symptoms, the function of hand, signs and pain of treatment group are all better than control group(P<0.05).Difference of abilities to work and life is not statistically significant(P>0.05). This result may due to inadequate therapy time.(2)Scores after second course treatment: after second course treatment, differences of all datas are statistiaclly significant(P<0.05) except scores of symptoms and function questionnaire of cervical spondylotic and the function of hand(P>0.05). Difference of SF-MPQ scores is significant significant(P<0.05). Datas including the improvement of symptoms, abilities to life and work, the function of hand, signs, pain perception, emotional respond of pain and pain intensity of treatment group are better than control group(P<0.05).(3)Scores after treatment end: after two courses of treatment, difference of scores of symptoms and function questionnaire of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy between two groups is statistically significant(P<0.05). Difference of SF-MPQ scores is significant significant(P<0.05). Datas including the improvement of symptoms, abilities to work and life, the function of hand, signs, pain perception, emotional respond of pain, pain intensity and total score of treatment group are all better than control group(P<0.05).(4)Curative effect: after second treatment, the significant efficiency of treatment group is 56.67%, the total effectiveness is 86.67%. The significant efficiency of control group is 26.67%, the total effectiveness is 73.33%. The curative effect difference has statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:Through study on 60 cases of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy patients, the conclusion shows: both group are effective on the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. But treatment group shows obvious advantages in terms of the improvement of symptoms in symptoms and function questionnaire of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, abilities to work and life, the function of hand, signs, pain perception, emotional respond of pain, pain intensity in SF-MPQ etc.In other words, comparing with seat traction treatment method, “flat wrist and erect finger acupuncture anipulation” with dermal needle method is more efficacy. This result provides a new prescription for using acupuncture needle and dermal needle on treatment of Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy.
