ObjectiveWe aim on studying the histopathology classifications of colorectal adenoma(CRA) and the corresponding classifications of CRA patients based on the diagnosis of the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) constitution types. Also, exploring the correlation between CRA histopathology and TCM constitution types to classify the high-risk group types.MethodsBased on collection of corresponding data, a table contacting information related to colorectal adenoma patients is generated. Firstly, during the 11 month period, from March 2015 to February 2016 in the Shanxi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, around 174 samples of CRA patients were collected, after being diagnosed by pathological examinations followed by electronic colonoscopy. Secondly, patients were classified into different groups by using TCM constitution types. Finally, the correlation between CRA histopathology and TCM constitution types were analyzedusing the SPSS17.0 statistical software.Results1.In patients below the age of 70, an increasing trend was observed in the incidence of colorectal adenoma cases, the highest incidence of colorectal adenoma cases were observed in patients whose ages range around 60~69(37.9%). In this study of colorectal adenoma cases, the tubular adenoma cases were observed to be74.05%, followed by 11.39% of tubular- villous adenoma cases, 7.59% villous adenoma cases, and 6.96% serrated adenoma cases.2. The frequency distribution for colorectal adenoma by site were observed to be in the following order: sigmoid colon, ascending colon, rectum, transverse colon, descending colon and ileocecal. Among the patients, 80 were normal weight,81 people were overweight or obese. Overall, the observed incidence of colorectal adenoma in both the categories were equal.3.The classification of TCM Constitution of colorectal adenoma are: physical deficiency or tendency 45, Yang deficiency constitution or tendency 29, Phlegm constitution or tendency19. The composition of TCM constitution type and age have significant difference, the majority were among 60~69 and 70~79 age group of patients with qi deficiency or tendency.4.Through these analysis, The results showed tubulo-villous adenoma patients mostly with qi deficiency and qi tendency(54.2%),villous adenoma patients mostly Yang deficiency and yang tendency(55.6%).ConclusionThe incidence of colorectal adenoma patients focus on the elderly patients, the incidence of this disease show rising trend until the age of 60,and the highest before70. The obesity group is no different from normal people with respect to the cases ofincidence. In addition, most of tubulo-villous adenoma patients were qi deficiency and qi deficiency tendency, and most of villous adenoma patients were Yang deficiency and yang deficiency tendency. |
