Objective In order to provide scientific basis for improving the quality of life of the elderly and the formulation of nutrition intervention,a surveyon the different endowment patterns of Changsha the Elderly nutritional status and nutritional Knowledge, Aattitude, Practice (KAP).Methords The 24 hour dietary recall method and self-designed questionnaire and food nutrition Knowledge,Attitude,Practice the intake frequency questionnaire by random samplingmethod in different mode of providing for the aged in Changsha city in443 elderly subjects.The nutritional status of the daily food and nutrient intake and dietary structure evaluation of the elderly, using T test and variance analysis were compared underdifferent conditions of nutritional status of the elderly, the nutrition Knowledge score, nutrition Attitude and Practice.Results In dietary patterns of the senior citizen, Daily intake of grease and salt of seniors in communities are apparently higher than RNI in The Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents,1.41 times and 2.1 times higher respectively. In state-run welfare houses and private nursing homes, the food intake daily of grease and salt according with the RNI, grease≤25g and salt≤6g. Compared with standard of energetic intake, the average energetic intake of community seniors is relatively high.As for the structure of food intakes, men intake more animal foodstuff than women (P<0.05), while women intake more plant foodstuff than men (P<0.05).Showed that integral awareness rate of knowledge of nutrition was approximately 55%; The average score of knowledge of nutrition was 9.12±0.91; 8.43±0.25; 7.15±1.09, among different endowment patterns; the average score of knowledge and attitude of nutrition was 4.34±0.18; 3.84±0.12; 3.71±0.26, among different endowment patterns and there was a difference (P<0.05) among the senior citizen with different endowment patterns, gender, age, degree of education and income. For practice of nutrition,125 senior citizens had a heavy taste, which occupied 28.21%; 193 senior citizens were taking nutritious supplementary, which occupied 43.56%; and 136 senior citizens pay attention to health care products, which occupied 30.69%.For the elderly nutrition knowledge acquirement of the survey, the elderly in the communitymainly through newspapers, magazines to obtain knowledge of the number of 64, accounting for 43.24%; the number of welfare of old people acquire knowledge through lectures 91,accounting for 61.90%; the number of old people mainly through newspapers, magazines can get knowledge 81, accounting for 54.72%.Conclusion Based on the different endowment patterns of Changsha City, the nutritional status of elderly people is generally good, the dietary structure needs to be improved. Overal, low intake in such as fish,dairy products, soy products,so the elderly dietary structure unreasonable.The overall low level of nutrition knowledge, lack of nutrition knowledge, nutritionattitude isnegative, and the existence of diet behavior. Therefore, strengthening the elderly nutritional health be imperative.
