Objective To analyze the clinical data of 168 patients with pulmonary embolism, focusing on comparing related indicators of patients elder than 65 years older with that less than 65 years old, and so as to that of patients with elder than 80 years old with that of patients between 65 years old to 80 years old, Through the study,we aim to strengthen the understanding of the clinical features of acute pulmonary embolism, especially in old patients. Methods This was a restrospective clinical comparison research. We selected 168 patients with acute pulmonary embolism which diagnosed by computed tomography pulmonary angiography and other clinical data who was hosptialized in our hospital from January 2009 to January 2015. Patients were divided into two groups based on whether it is elder than 65 years old, they were defined as the old group and the no-old group. And as to patients elder than 65 years old, patients who was elder than 80 years old were defined as the elderly group, and the others were defined as the no-elderly group. Relevant data including general condition, risk factors, symptoms and signs, risk stratification, Wells score, revised Geneva score outcomes, laboratory examination and imageological examination results, regimen and in-hospital mortality were compared. Results 1. The incidence of chronic heart and lung disease such as HBP, CHD, COPDwere higher in the old group with acute pulmonary embolism (p<0.05), and it was more common in the elderly group.2. It was more normal in the old group It showed that the performance of unilateral lower limb swelling was more common to see in the no-old group(p<0.05). But there was no significance between the incidence of hemoptysis, syncope, dyspnea, cough and expectoration between the old group and the no-old group (p>0.05).3. The old group were more common with atrial fibrillation and sinus tachycardia compared with the no-old patients(p<0.05). And the incidence of bilateral trunk embolism in the elderly group was higher than the no-elderly group (p< 0.05).4. As to the the rate of sPESI scoreā‰„1 point, It is with significance between the no-old group and that of the old group was higher than the no-old group, and it was higher in the elderly group than the no-elderly group (p< 0.05).5. The diagnostic rate within 7days are lower in the old group when compared with the old group(69.7%,84.8%, p< 0.05).6. As to Hospital mortality, the old group was higher than the no-old group (9.2%,1.1%, p<0.05), and the elderly group is higher than the no-elderly group, but with no statistical difference (14.3%,8.1%, p> 0.05).
