Objective:To discuss the correlation between high-normal blood pressure withdifferent TCM syndromes and influencing factorsin some areas of Xinjiang. Methods:Some representative areas in Xinjiang were selected in Altay Fuhai County, Ili Xinyuan County, Korla Yanqi, and Urumqi South Mountain Pastures. For each area, 2 survey spots were drawn at random, and 400- 450 people were expected to be involved in field investigation at each spot. A total of 1046 research objects from Uygur, Kazak and Han nationalities who suffered from high normal BP and met the diagnostic criteria were treated by TCM syndrome differentiation typing, their body mass index(BMI), waist circumference, lipid metabolism, etc. were measured, and other general data was collected, so as to discuss the correlation between high-normal blood pressure with different TCM syndromes and influencing factors. Results: The influencing factor of syndrome of liver-fire hyperactivity was smoking; abundant phlegm-dampness syndrome was influenced by elements including salt, smoking, BMI, LDL(low-density lipoprotein) and TRIG(triglyceride) Yin deficiency andYang excess syndrome can be affected by gender; and the factor of family history can influence syndrome of deficiency of both Yin and Yang. Conclusions:Based on further analysis and statistics of the correlation between high-normal blood pressure different with TCM syndromesand various influencing factors, the influencing factors vary in a certain degree among all TCM syndromes; the above objective indexes can provide a basis for different typing which involved high-normal blood pressure with different TCM syndromes, help objectify the TCM syndromesdifferentiation, and act as the reference and guidance for preventing and controlling hypertension of different patients.
