The passenger transport service mode of buying ticket advanced and taking the train on time is widely used in our nation, which requires the railway stations provide kinds of waiting rooms to meet the need of large numbers of passengers waiting trains in it. In recent years, the passenger volume of railway passenger stations (especially large scale passenger stations) is increasing rapidly with the rapid development of high-speed railway passenger transportation in our nation. Therefore, it has become a very important issue, need to be deal with as soon as possible, that how to make the high-density traffic organization adapts to the characteristic of large numbers of gathering passengers, and make the management of passenger organization integrated with the advanced techniques and methods so the passengers can enter the station orderly, waiting trains reasonably, check-in fast and transfer smoothly, in order to increase the level of passenger services and operational efficiency of the station.That the reasonable distribution and optimization of waiting rooms in a railway passenger station is the core content of increasing the level of passenger services and operational efficiency of the station. This paper researches on model and simulation evaluation method for distributing optimization of waiting rooms in a railway passenger station, combining with the project of "Optimization Research on Large Scale Passenger Station Service System" from Beijing Railway Bureau. The topic has important practical significance.Firstly, this paper analyzes the research status, including railways passenger waiting room layout and the optimized use of domestic and foreign as well as passenger organizational characteristics. Secondly, use systematic analysis method to study the layout structure characteristics of railway passenger waiting space, waiting mode, waiting operation and waiting passenger features. Then using optimization model to study the waiting room according to passengers waiting behavior characteristics, rule of passengers arrival and waiting mode from our country’s railway passenger station. This paper propose a comprehensive optimization target system (including:Avoid more than one train checking at the same time in the same waiting room.Try to reduce congestion in every waiting room to make loads in different waiting rooms tend to be balance; Reduce the walking distance of passengers in the station.Make full use of the equipment in different waiting rooms to balance the operation.), and build a large-scale multiple objective combining optimization model and design the corresponding algorithm.Meanwhile, this paper establishes a simulation model to evaluate the schemes of waiting room distribution using an advance microscopic simulation software system of AnyLogic. Finally, taking the scientifically distribution and optimization use of waiting rooms in Beijing Railway Station as an example, this paper use the multiple objective combining optimization model and AnyLogic simulation evaluation model to realize optimized calculation and simulation evaluation and analysis for waiting rooms in Beijing Railway Station.Part of the research results in this paper have been adopted by Beijing Railway Station. The optimization scheme proposed in this paper can improve the degree of congestion, ticket operations balance and passenger walking distance on waiting rooms in Beijing Railway Station. It has a positive role on improving the service level of passenger station and operational efficiency. It also provides an optimization models and method for other similar stations on distribution of waiting rooms.
