The Clinical Research On Shengyang Chushi Decoction In The Prevention And Treatment For Radiation Proctitis

Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of Shengyang Chushi decoction in preventing and treating radiation proctitis.Methods:40 patients with Ⅱb-Ⅲb cervical cancer were randomly divided into intervention group (20 cases) and blank group (20 cases) in prevention study. The patients in intervention group were orally given Shengyang Chushi decoction combined with radiotherapy.While the patients in blank group were recevived radiotherapy alone.Then to compare the incidence and severity of radiation proctitis,symptoms such as pain in lower abdomen,diarrhea,mucous stool,abdominal distention,the average time of radiation and descending of WBC between each groups. 50 patients who were diagnosed with chronic radiation proctitis were randomly divided into experiment group(25 cases) and the control group(25 cases) in treatment study. The patients in experiment group were orally given Shengyang Chushi decoction combined with Mesalamine Enteric-coated Tablets.While the patients in control group were orally given Mesalamine Enteric-coated Tablets alone.Then to compare the symptom improvement,CRP,SOD,endoscopic image,the anorectal dynamics,KPS score and comprehensive curative effect between each group.Result:The general information (gender, age, duration, course,treatment history and level of severity before treatment),the main clinical symptoms before treatment (abdominal pain, diarrhea, mucus stool, anal pendant expansion),CRP,SOD,anorectal pressure and colonoscopic findings showed no statistically significant difference and comparability (P>0.05).The difference between intervention and blank group in the incidence and severity,the average time of radiation,the happen of pain in lower abdomen,diarrhea,mucous stool,abdominal distention and the descending of WBC was statistically significant(P<0.05). It indicated that the intervention group may be better than the blank group.But,the difference of short-term efficacy and the improvement of KPS between groups was not statistically significant (P>0.05).The difference between experiment and control group in the improvement of symptoms,CRP,SOD,the anorectal dynamics, the improvement of KPS and curative effect was statistically significant(P<0.05). It indicated that the experiment group may be better than the control group. But,the difference of colonoscopic findings and the Safety between each groups was not statistically significant (P>0.05)Conclusion:Shengyang Chushi Decoction may be effective to decrease the incidence and severity of acute radiation proctitis and improve patients’ tolerance,while may be not to interfere with the short-term efficacy of cervical cancer.The efficacy in treatment of radiation proctitis by Shengyang Chushi Decoction combined with Mesalamine Enteric-coated Tablets is exact.The Shengyang Chushi Decoction may be superior than Mesalamine and provid an effective way to treat chronic radiation proctitis.
