AimsDeep vein thrombosis(DVT) is a common disease in clinical, which is caused by abnormal clot in deep vein and subsequent dysfunction of venous reflux. DVT usually happened in lower extremity. Kahn et al. found 90% of inpatients were apt to thrombophilia but only 16% patients were prevented properly. Ander son and Spence proposed that a written and formal prevention strategy should be developed. Pulmonary embolism(PE) caused by DVT could impair life quality of patients even result in death.Besides, it was relatively expensive to treatment DVT and then brought an economic burden to individual and society. Thus, to avoid the burden and decrease mortality, it is necessary to find a method to prevent DVT.MethodsPatients who were performed surgery in our hospital from september 2013 were involved in our study. To find the effectiveness of nursing in prevention of DVT after surgery, and to find the advantage and availibilty of nursing, we respectively reviewed all the patients with risk of DVT. The rates of DVT occurrence and recurrence were compared between before and after improvement measure carried out. We also tried to the importance of nursing in DVT provention. The nursing in our study mainly included ankle- pump movement, compression stocking wear, intermittent pneumatic compression.ResultThere were 143 patients involved in the study, where 68 in the intervention group and 75 in the control group. The age of these patients varied from 42 to 77 years old(average 64.75 years old). No significant differences of age(P=0.25) and length of stsy(P=0.87) between groups were observed. Caliber of venae DVT was larger in the control group than in the intervention group(P=0.013) and velocity of venae DVT wasfaster in the control group than in the intervention group(P=0.021). There were no significant difference of coagulation function between groups.DVT was occurred in 2 patients in the intervention group. One was central type and the other one was peripheral type. Both occurred in lefy leg. DVT was occurred in10 patients in the control group. Three was central type, 5 was peripheral type and 2 was mix type. The rate of DVT was significant lower in the intervention group than in the control group(2.94% vs. 13.3%,P=0.023)ConclusionNursing can provent the bleeding complication caused by drug therapy. It also can decrease the economic burden of patients and DVT occurrence after surgey.Furthemore, it can improve the effect of treatment and alleviate the pain of patients. But it is relatively fussy when treatment and always need the cooperation of patients. The time of treatment need to handle strictly. Finally, proper assessment and propaganda combined with education can faciliate the provention of DVT. It can make nursing targetedly to promote recovery and improve life quality of patients.
