Objectives The aim of this study is to investigate the staff job satisfaction and its influencing factors in Qiqihar Medical College, and then analyzing the deficiency in the human resources development and providing a theoretical basis for making personnel policy for the next stage.Methods A total of 400 staff, who worked at Qiqihar Medical College from January 2015 to June 2015, were selected randomly according the job number and investigated by questionnaires. The staff job satisfaction were evaluated in the following six dimensions: the work itself, welfare income, working environment, further education and promotion, interpersonal relationship, and leadership management. Finally, a total of 32 indicators and 388 valid questionnaires were obtained. SPSS version 22.0 software was used for statistical analysis: measurement data between groups were analyzed using ANOVA test; count data were analyzed using chi-square test; association analysis of the factors were analyzed using Logistic regression analysis.Results1. The overall staff satisfaction was at a high level with the score of 3.27±1.306 in Qiqihar Medical College. The results of ANOVA analysis showed that the differences of four factors, including age, educational history, job title and years of working, were statistically significant(P< 0.05). The results of Logistic regression analysis also showed that the age influenced the staff satisfaction and the satisfaction increased with the age growth(OR > 1).2. As to the evaluation of work itself, forward and reverse score were better than average level. Most of the staff agree with that work was too heavy and the average score was of 3.97. At the same time, the social status of college teacher was fully recognized with an average score of 3.87. The results of ANOVA analysis showed that the differences of age and years of working were statistically significant in this dimension(P< 0.05).3. The dimension of interpersonal relationship was forward score with an average score of 3.60. This result indicated a high level of interpersonal relationship among staff.4. The dimension of welfare income was forward score with an average score of 2.63. This result indicated a low level of welfare income.5. The dimension of further education and promotion was forward score with an average score of 3.19. This result indicated a middle level of further education and promotion.6. The dimension of leadership management were forward and reverse score. The score of objective and fair evaluation from leadership was highest with an average score of 3.87. However, the score of carrying out staff proposal was lowest with an average score of 2.16.7. As to the dimension of working environment, the score of office environment, reputation, library, equipment and facilities were relatively high with average scores of 3.97, 3.26, 3.75, 3.88, respectively. These results indicated a relatively high level of working environment.Conclusions1. The overall staff satisfaction is in a relatively high level in Qiqihar Medical College.2. The satisfaction of work itself, working environment, interpersonal relationship are in a relatively high level. Taking advantage in these dimensions can improve the staff satisfaction.3. The satisfaction of leadership management, welfare income and further education and promotion are in a relatively low level. The corresponding rules and regulations should be perfected.4. The age, years of working, and job title are the most important factors of the staff satisfaction. The following approaches should be carried out to enhance staff job satisfaction: strengthening the construction of young teachers, training school campus culture construction, clearing the goals of human resource development, adding staff self-development approach.
