| Objective:To study the relationship between the left atrial enlargement in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and the positive results of coronary angiography. Methods:included 213 cases of patients previously in our hospital and diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus, according to the echocardiogram results, they were divided into a group of left atrial enlargement (LAD≥35mm) and a group of left atrium normal (LAD<35mm), according to coronary angiography results, they were divided into angiography positive group (there are one or more greater than 2mm in diameter in coronary artery, and the severity of coronary artery stenosis is greater than or equal to 50%) and angiography negative group, the first step is to do the univariate analysis of the relationship between left atrial enlargement and the results of coronary angiography, then to do the multivariate logistic regression analysis, adding the control variables, getting rid of the confounding factors, then observe the degree of change how much left atrial enlargement effects the results of coronary angiography. Results:the univariate analysis shows that the diabetes prevalence and left atrial enlargement are statistical significance in type 2 diabetic patients who were coronary angiography positive, multivariate logistic regression analysis shows that without the confounding factors, the relationship between left atrium in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and coronary angiography positive is statistical significance,left atrial enlargement group with coronary angiography positive rate is 8.41 times to the left atrium normal group. Conclusion:Left atrial enlargement may be an independent predictor of coronary heart disease in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. |
