Objective:This study aims to make an epidemiological survey of the fem ale students from four colleges and universities in Chengdu to further understa nd the functional constipation prevalence rate of the female students. By probin g into the relevance of the functional constipation prevalence and factors like a ge, culture level, diet, sleep, exercise time, defecate frequency, body discomfort, and psychosocial factors such as discomfort,fear and anxiety and satisfaction,we can draw a conclusion to effectively guide students to have a better understan ding of constipation. Besides,it’s also can be a helpful reference of the plan to prevent and cure the functional constipation.Methods:After surveying the feasibility of the questionnaire by consulting the experts of digestive system department, anorectal section,psychology depart ment and so on,800questionnaires from 4 colleges and universities in Chengdu have been finished by following the chronic constipation guidelines of China( wuhan.2013), the diagnosis of functional constipation standard Roman III sta ndard. The basic method is adopting the combination of universality and specif icity scale method. That is data research and functional constipation diagnostic scale (basic information questionnaire including age, occupation, marital status, educational level, diet, exercise, sleep, etc; defecation situation questionnaire), ASLEC, the Chinese version of PAC-QCL constipation patients. Statistical an alysis of prevalence rate and related factors was processed with SPSS 20.0 chi-square test and two yuan logistic regression analysis, finally draw the conclusi on of hypothesis testing.Results:The investigation from 780 students in college indicated that all 88 students fit the diagnostic of Rome standard III, the morbidity rate of suff ering constipation wasl1.28%. There is no prevalence difference in the two age group of 19-25years of age(includingl9 and 25 years old) and aged 26-32year s (including 26and 32 years old). Cultural degree is negatively correlated with constipation. Different eating habits influence prevalence rate in functional cons tipation. Which shows compared with bland diet, students with spicy and meat products suffer from constipation more.It was found that the students who sle ep 4 hours a day are easier to be found constipation. Also students with avera ge daily exercise less than10 minutes are easier to be found constipation.In t he use of laxatives, laxatives constipation than the risk of not taking laxatives. By failing the examination, the burden of study, the high frequency of misun derstanding, away from family, friends, life habits and other disputes life event s, the occurrence of constipation may rise up. Bloating, loss of appetite, feel u neasy, afraid of not defecation, stool frequency and stool reduced regularity is poor with high frequencies in constipation crowd.Conclution:The survey of 4 universities in Chengdu,800 samples, the rec overy of 780 valid samples.It showed that the high costive rate in college was closely relevant to the living condition, food and drink and althletic sports. T he factors that increasing the risk of suffering functional constipation are famil y (or work) mental factors,problems of physical discomfort,psychological and so cial discomfort,fear and anxiety and satisfaction. Correlated risk factors in colle ge students constipation are higher than common crowd. So attention should be paid by relevant government departments.
