Acupuncture And Moxibustion For Alopecia Areata:a Systematic Review

In this article,through comprehensively retrieval all about acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of alopecia areata RCT/qRCT in both Chinese and English literature at home and abroad before February 1,2015,According to the method of evidence-based medicine to evaluate the quality of the evidence,strict to evaluate the effect of acupuncture in the treatment of alopecia areata and the safety of the treatment,the understanding of acupuncture in the treatment of alopecia areata in terms of evidence-based medicine,and to evaluate how effective the treatment.BackgroundAlopecia areata is a disorder in which there is loss of hair causing patches of baldness but with no scarring of the affected area. It will affect the entire scalp (alopecia totalis) or cause loss of all body hair (alopecia universalis). It is a relatively common condition affecting 0.2% of the population. Although it can be a self-limiting condition in many cases,nevertheless hair loss can often have a severe social and emotional impact.ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture in the treatment of alopecia areata.Search methodsThrough the computer retrieval database including foreign language literature:Cochrane Library,Pubmed,Ovid MEDLINE;Including Chinese database:CBMdisc,CNKI,VIP,Including manual retrieval magazine:Between January 2011 and May 2014 in the journal of the Chinese,"Chinese acupuncture","journal of Shanghai acupuncture".Main resultsThe system evaluation to retrieve a total of 622 articles,eventually into 12 references,a total of 1132 cases of patients,among them,the acupuncture group 578 examples,the control group,554 cases of aged 18 to 60 years old.Bias risk shows:Most studies hidden allocation is not perfect, and have imperfect outcome data.Clinical efficient of Acupuncture versus medicine:[RR 1.16 95% CI(1.1 to 1.23)]、Area of the integral[MD 2.22 95%CI(2.61-1.84)]、DLQI[MD 2.96 95%CI(3.58-2.35)];Clinical efficient of Plum needle versus medicine[RR 1.34 95%CI(1.18to 1.23)]、Area of the integral[MD 2.48 95%CI (2.95-2.01)]; Clinical efficient of moxibustion versus Traditional Chinese medicine [RR 1.3 95% CI (1.08 to 1.56)]、Area of the integral[MD 1.46 95%CI(2.49-0.43)];Clinical efficient of acupuncture point embedded wire/VS western medicine injections[RR 1.22 95%CI(1.07 to 1.41)]、Area of the integral[MD 1.41 95%CI (2.2-0.62)].The research progress of the analysis results show that after nearly a decade,compared with the past has the very big progress,especially in the form of plum needle external use to treat,curative effect is obvious,and the area of improvement of alopecia areata has the obvious effect,level of evidence for the medium.Acupuncture point embedded wire\injection and moxibustion therapy alone lack of evidence,advantage results need to be wary,because they are the meta-analysis advantage significantly as individual therapy,but the evidence after GRADE ratings are "low" or "very low".About the bad result end, acupuncture compared with western medicine and no obvious advantage,low quality of evidence.But the lack of quality of acupuncture in the treatment of AA research evidence,such as the need to get enough evidence and need bigger supports high quality researches.
