Objectives:The study is designed to investigate the current situation of the practice quality of clinical medicine students, defining the key influence factors upon quality of clinical practice and come up with effective countermeasures aimed to the existing problems. The aim is to improve the practice quality and overall quality of clinical medicine students. Methods:Clinical instruction teachers and the undergraduates of 2012~2015 grade from a 3-Grade general hospital were investigated through self-designed questionnaire, to investigate the current situation of the practice quality of clinical medicine students, defining the main influence, degree and range factors upon quality of clinical practice. Comparing with the date of practice quality between students of 2012~2013 grade and that of 2014~2015 grade. Statistical analysis was done by the SPSS 17.0 software useing constituent ratios and chi-square test.Results:1. 174 effective “investigation questionnaire of influence factors upon practice quality” were reclaimed, the main influence factors were listed as follows: “postgraduate entrance exam preparation”,“employment interview, civil service exam preparation”,“ clear learning objective, modesty and eagerness to learn”,“experienced teachers who were good at inspiring study interest, students enjoy learning”,“enthusiastic teachers, students dissolved in the division quickly”,“ attend ward round frequently, improve the clinical thinking”,“better training room for operating practice and evaluation”,“attend difficulty, critically ill,the death case discussion frequently”, “ less chance to practice to avoid the doctor-patient contradiction”.2. 330 self-assessment of questionnaires of practice quality by students of 2014~2015 grade and 400 teacher-assessment questionnaires were reclaimed. Practice quality of students of 2014~2015 grade was better than that of 2012~2013 grade. From the result of student self-assessment, the “excellent” rate raised from 21.79% to 31.79%; With respect to teacher-assessment, the “excellent” rate raised from 13.50% to 19.5%, the “good” rate raised from 24.5%% to 33.5%, while the unqualified rate declined from 8% to 2.5%.Conclusions:The evaluation index including medical record writing ability, communication skills, clinical thinking ability, observation ability, emergency response ability, common operation skills, professional knowledge, and quality training, should be employed in the evaluation system of practice quality for clinical medicine students. The main influence factors upon quality of clinical practice were listed as follows: “postgraduate entrance exam preparation”,“employment interview, civil service exam preparation”,“ clear learning objective, modesty and eagerness to learn”,“experienced teachers who were good at inspiring study interest, students enjoy learning”,“enthusiastic teachers, students dissolved in the division quickly ”,“ attend ward round frequently, improve the clinical thinking”,“better training room for operating practice and evaluation”,“attend difficulty, critically ill, the death case discussion frequently”,“less chance to practice to avoid the doctor-patient contradiction”, and so on. In order to improve the practice quality, it is imperative to deepen teaching reform. In our study, practice quality was better than that before effective countermeasures were performed. These results suggest that our countermeasures maybe feasible, effective and worth for reference.
