Observation Of The Clinical Effect Of Treating Primary Liver Cancer With Ascites By TCM Enema And External Application

Purpose: Discuss the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine enema and external application treatment on primary liver cancer ascites. Method: According to random number table, divide the patients that corresponding to inclusive criterion into treatment group(general basic treatment in western medicine + traditional Chinese medicine enema matched with applying on umbilicus by mirabilite) and control group(general basic treatment in western medicine) with 45 people each. The course of treatment is 10 days with one month of follow-up visit. Evaluate the mend matters of clinical common symptoms of the patients in two groups, such as ascites depth, ascites curative effect, living quality, average urine volume in 24 hours, abdominal girth, and weight. Results: ① There are statistics differences(P<0.01) existing in the differential comparison of ascites depth in the two groups before and after treatment as well as the post-treatment comparison among groups; which indicates that the efficacy of treatment group in improving ascites depth is superior to control group. ② The non-statistics differences(P>0.05) of ascites efficacy between the two groups means they have the same efficacy in improving ascites. ③ There are statistics differences(P<0.05) existing in the post-treatment comparison among groups in improving living quality. It shows the efficacy of treatment group is superior to control group. ④ As for the aspects of average urine volume in 24 hours, abdominal girth and weight, there are statistics differences(P average<0.01) existing in the differentials between pre-therapy and post-treatment comparison among groups, the treatment group is superior to control group. ⑤ In the aspect of clinical symptoms, the total efficient of treatment group is 94.74% with controlgroup is 80.00%; the comparison of general efficacy has no statistics differences(P>0.05).As for improving abdominal distention, edema of lower limbs, dyspnea and hypourocrina,the efficacy of treatment group is superior to control group(post-treatment comparison among groups P average< 0.05). There is no significant difference(post-treatment comparison among groups P average>0.05) between treatment group and control group in improving nausea and vomiting, poor appetite as well as weakness. There are statistics differences(P<0.01) existing in the post-treatment aggregate scores of clinical symptoms comparison among groups and pre-therapy and post-treatment differential comparison.These showed that, in the aspect of aggregate scores of improving clinical common symptoms, the efficacy of treatment group is superior to control group. There is no obvious adverse reaction appeared in any patient of the two groups during the clinical observation period. Conclusion: The traditional Chinese medicine enema that matched with applying mirabilite on umbilicus is an effective and safe treatment that deserves promoting.
