ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect of high focused ultrasound in intermittent way on people who suffers from chronic soft tissue injury, compare its effect and safety to low focused ultrasound towards chronic soft tissue injury, provide the basis for clinical selection of optimal therapy.MethodsOne hundred patients were randomized divided into two groups,50 cases in each group. Low focused ultrasound group (LG):minimum ultrasonic intensity that patients on the treatment site can feel (acid, hemp, swelling, pain), treatment was continued for 10 minutes. High focused ultrasound group (HG):focused ultrasound intensity in patients intolerant of fractionated treatment, each time 1 min, intermittent 1 min, for 10 times. Numerical rating scale scores, pain threshold, the MOS item short form healthy survey (SF-36) scores, Beck depression rating scale (BDI) scores were compared before and after the treatment, recorded the occurrence of adverse reactions.Results1) After treatment, NRS scores, depression scores decreased significantly compared with before treatment (P<0.05), mechanical pain threshold was increased, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);2) Within group comparisons, after treatment 4 dimensions (bodily pain, vitality, social functioning, mental health) and mental component summary of SF-36 were significant differences (P<0.05),4 dimensions (physical functioning, role physical, general health, role emotional) and physical component summary of SF-36 had no statistical significance (P>0.05).3) Comparison between groups, the NRS score was lower and the 2 dimensions (BP, VT) scores were higher after treatment in LG than HG, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), while pain threshold, depression score changes had no significant difference (P>0.05).4) No side effect was observed in LG, the adverse reaction rate of HG was 8%, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).ConclusionHigh focused ultrasound in intermittent way in treatment of chronic soft tissue have advantages such as non-invasive, effective, moreover, between group comparison the continuous model rely on minimum ultrasonic intensity that patients feel (acid, hemp, swelling, pain) may bring better clinical effect, also can reduce the adverse reactions.
