Objective:To investigate the changes and clinical significance of endogenous hydrogen sulfide in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods:After collect blood samples from 50 patients with acute cerebral infarction and 20 healthy adults, we analyze the differences of the concentration of H2S between health and cerebral infarct. Results: ①The concentration of H2S in the small infarct group decreased significantly compared with the healthy group (P< 0.05). However, the concentration of H2S was markedly increased in the middle infarct group and the large one compared with the healthy group (P< 0.05). ②The concentration of H2S in the brainstem group was significantly lower than the healthy group (P<0.05). There is no significant differences among the mixed group, the lobar group, the basal ganglia group and the healthy group (P> 0.05). The concentration of H2S in the brainstem group was significantly lower than the lobar group (P<0.05) and mixed group (P <0.05).There is no significant differences in the brain stem and the basal ganglia group (P>0.05).③The concentration of H2S among the consciousness groups, the unconscious group and the healthy group showed no significant difference (P> 0.05);④The concentration of H2S among the hemiplegia group, the hemiplegic group and the healthy group showed no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion:The concentration of H2S changes as the size of infarction changes. The concentration of H2S in the small infarct group is decreased but increased in the middle and large group compared with the healthy group. The concentration of H2S in the mixed group, the lobar group, the basal ganglia group and the healthy group were no significantly different. The brainstem group content lower than the healthy group, which is probably the area of the brain stem infarct size are small, so the concentration of H2S has no relationship with infarction area, plasma H2S content infarction no significant correlation. The changes of consciousness and physical activity function has nothing to do with the concentration of H2S.
