Objective:To explore the effects of Minerals on sensorineural deafness so as to decrease hearing loss. Methods:Patients identified with sensorineural deafness from the second affiliated hospital of chong qing medical university was selected, without family history, noise exposure, ototoxic drugs, otitis media, ear trauma, tumor, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and so on.150 sensorineural deafness patients’s serum minerals were analyzed by atom spectrum method compared with 52 healthy people in normal hearing level.Results:1)zinc,iron and magnesium count of patients with sensorineural hearing loss was significantly lower than that of healthy cases. As auditory threshold increased, the count of serum zinc, iron and magnesium decreased. 2) Zinc decreased has something related with 4kHz,8kHz frequency hearing loss. Conclusion:The shortage of Minerals can be responsible for sensorineural hearing loss. Combination multi-mineral formulations with antioxidant may be helpful to hearing protection.
