Objective: This study aim to explore Helicobacter pylori(Hp) detection rate, patients of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People’s Hospital, suffered from Gastric cancer, Gastritis and Peptic ulcer. To investigate Hp detection rate in Han and Uygur patients with different gastrointestinal diseases in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People’s Hospital.Method: From Jan.2012 to Mar.2014, 1120 Patients were recruited in this retrospective study in the Department of Gastroenterology of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People’s Hospital. According to endoscopy and pathological of endoscopic specimen examination were divided into three groups: there are 594 cases in Gastritis group, 264 cases in Peptic Ulcer group, 262 cases in Gastric Cancer group. Hp infection was diagnosed when Hp Histopathological of endoscopic specimen examination or/and 14C-UBT(14C-urea breath test) test were positive. Results: Hp infection positive was found in 114 cases(43.5%)in Gastric cancer group; in 242 cases(40.7%)in Gastritis group; in 236 cases(89.4%)in Peptic ulcer group. Hp detection rate in Peptic ulcer group were higher than the other groups(with significant different):Gastritis group(χ2 =128.96, P<0.001),Gastric cancer group(χ2 =124.32, P<0.001). Hp detection rate in Gastric cancer group was higher than the Gastritis group(without significant different(P>0.05). Hp detection rate in Gastritis group, Peptic Ulcer group and Gastric Cancer group of Uygurs were found 102 cases(54.3%), 120 cases(88.2%) and 68 cases(43%), respectively; in Gastritis group, Peptic Ulcer group and Gastric Cancer group of the Hans were found 140 cases(34.5%),116 cases(90.6%)and 46 cases(44.2%), respectively; Hp detection rate of Gastritis group in the Uygurs was higher than in the Hans with significantly difference(χ2 = 20.808, P ﹤0.001). Hp detection rate was no significantly difference(P﹥0.05) between Peptic Ulcer group/Gastric Cancer group and Ethnicity. Conclusions: Hp maybe an important factor during the occurrence of Peptic ulcer, Gastritis and Gastric cancer; The association of Hp infection with Peptic ulcer compare to the association of Hp infection with Gastritis and Gastric cancer was more closely,in patients of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People’s Hospital. There was association between Gastritis group of Hp detection rate and Ethnicity, There was no obviously correlated between Gastric Cancer group/Peptic Ulcer group of Hp detection rate and Ethnicity, in patients of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People’s Hospital.
