Objective :To evaluate the anti-allergic rhinitis drugs with improved TOPSIS method so as to verify the feasibility of the improved TOPSIS method, and to establish a structured, quantitative methodology of benefit-risk assessment. Methods :We searched “fexofenadine” AND “allergic rhinitis, “ loratadine” AND “allergic rhinitis”,“certirizine” AND “allergic rhinitis” from Medline, OVID and Cochrane library database. According to this study inclusion criteria and exclusion, the data were collected from 39 randomized controlled trials. Fexofenadine, loratadine and cetirizine were served as the evaluation unit, and there were 12 evaluation indicators, such as the nasal obstruction, nasal itching, sneezing, runny nose, ocular symptoms, quality of life, doctor’s assessment. The raw data of fexofenadine, loratadine and cetirizine was analysed by Meta-analysis(Rev Man5.2);12 evaluation indicators were assigned to weight parameters using the Swingweighting method;Anti-allergic rhinitis drugs were assessed by using improved TOPSIS method. The steps as following:(1) Establishment of the decision context: identification of the evaluated, the indication, the dosage and population for that indication.(2) Identification of the benefit-risk indicators: the study indentified the representativeindicators according to the indication.(3) Data collection and analysis: the raw data was analysed by Meta-analysis(Rev Man5.2).(4) Assignment of a weight to each indicator using swing-weighting method.(5) Data was analysed by improved TOPSIS method.(6)According to the data results, evaluating benefit-risk of fexofenadine, loratadine andcetirizine.Results:8 efficiency indicators and 4 risk indicators were obtained by were obtained from fexofenadine, loratadine and cetirizine raw data by Meta-analysis( Rev Man5.2software);Assignment of a weight to the nasal obstruction, nasal itching, sneezing, nasal discharge, eye symptoms, quality of life, doctor’s assessment, patient assessment, drowsiness headache using swing-weighting method respectively: 0.06、0.06、0.06、0.06、0.06、0.25、0.08、0.08、0.03、0.06、0.09、0.09;Fexofenadine, loratadine and cetirizine with the relative proximity to the optimal value in improved TOPSIS method were 0.846, 0.896 and 0.585.Conclusion:Improved TOPSIS method can deal with the data that traditional TOPSIS method can’t,which assess the benefit and risk of drug is reasonable, feasible, simple and intuitive. The benefit-risk value of cetirizine is best, fexofenadine second, loratadine again.
