Objective:This study was based on phase behavior change in TTM theory to discover the Taiyuan city community H-type hypertension patients’ eating behavior change of current situation. On this basis, through the method of behavior change and the matching of the stages of behavior change interventions, helps the community H-type hypertension patients establish good eating habits. It also provides theoretical basis for H-type hypertension prevention and the diet intervention.Methods:1.This study was conducted on 243 cases of Taiyuan city registered H-type hypertension patients in community with the general data questionnaire, questionnaire on eating habits, diet assessment of the behavior change stages, H-type hypertension related knowledge questionnaire, SSRS, ATRABS,and make an accurate measurement about the BP and Hcy,then make an statistical for all the content we have invested.2.This study uses the open-label, parallel, case-control experiment design. According to the results of the baseline survey, we call on people by contacting community, phone call and mobilization, posters and so on. 130 H-type hypertension were selected randomly from the applicants, they were divided into TTM group and the control group. While the control group accept regular health education, the TTM group was implemented intervention based on TTM theory. After six months, the intervention results were evaluated through questionnaires and blood pressure and Hcy measuring.Results:1.There exists a phase distribution phenomenon on Taiyuan city community H-type hypertension patients’ dietary behavior. 13.6% of the patients are in the former intention stage, 14.8% of the patients are in the stage of intention, 43.6% of the patients are in thepreparation stage, 23.5% of the patients are in the stage of action, and 4.5% of patients are in the sustain stage.2.The social support score of the participants(35.96±6.82) is lower than the norm(45.89±6.69). The hypertension treatment of attitudes and beliefs score(69.02±10.56) is lower than the norm(71.09±11.02).With the advance of diet behavior phase, the scores of dietary habit, disease-related knowledge and hypertension treatment of attitudes and beliefs are gradually improved.3.There is statistical significance on the scores of disease-related knowledge, hypertension treatment of attitudes and beliefs and social support between the control group before and after the intervention(P < 0.05). TTM group’s scores on eating habits,disease-related knowledge and attitudes and beliefs of hypertension treatment before and after the intervention are statistically significant(P < 0.05). The TTM group got a higher score than the control group on disease-related knowledge, hypertension treatment of attitudes and beliefs and social support after six months intervention(P < 0.05). The distribution of the TTM group on dietary habits is superior than the control group(P <0.05).Conclusion:1.There exists an phase distribution phenomenon in Taiyuan H-type hypertension patients’ diet behavior, and the number of people in the first three stages is in the majority(72%), poor eating habits remain to be further improved.2.With the advance of dietary behavior phase, the community H-type hypertension patients got a high score on eating habits, disease-related knowledge, social support and hypertension treatment attitudes and beliefs.3.Intervention scheme guided by the theory of TTM can significantly improve the community H-type hypertension patients’ disease-related knowledge, enhance their attitudes and beliefs on disease treatment, improve the situation of the patients’ eating behavior stage distribution, and help the H-type hypertensive patients to establish healthy eating habits.
