Hypertension is the most common chronic disease in our country. It is also the most important risk factor of cardiovascular and cerebra-vascular diseases. The main complications of hypertension are stroke, myocardial infarction, heart failure, and chronic kidney disease, which lead to high rate of disability and death. There are about 200 million patients with hypertension in our country by 2010,however,the control of hypertension is not ideal.Studies have shown that,in the long-term treatment of hypertension, the patient compliance with medication and the doctor's recommendations for a variety of non drug treatment can play a key role in the implementation of its treatment plan. Therefore, this study explore the combined intervention effect of continued nursing mode and traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)nursing health education on the compliance behavior of patients with hypertension after discharge,in order to achieve the goal of improving the level of compliance behavior of patients and promoting blood pressure target achievement. Objective:This study was designed to evaluate the intervention effect of continued nursing care combined with TCM nursing health education on patients with hypertension,by observing the compliance behavior?control rate of hypertension and blood pressure control level of patients with hypertension. Methods:This study was a quasi-experimented study.100 discharged patients with hypertension were divided into intervention group and control group.Ninety eight study subjects participated in the whole research process. The patients in intervention group and control group all received TCM nursing health education in the day of discharge. The control group did not receive any other special intervention, while the intervention group receive the continued nursing care intervention on the basis of TCM nursing health education. The intervention duration lasted for 12 weeks. All the patients in the intervention group and the control group were evaluated by the compliance behavior scale before and after 12 weeks intervention. And the blood pressure values were collected before,8 weeks and 12 weeks after the intervention.Data were analyzed using SPSS 17.0 statistical software, and a P-value of less than 0.05 was considered to be statistically significant.Results:(1)Compliance behaviors:After the intervention, the score for compliance behaviors was 20.00±3.81 in the intervention group, was at a high level. And the score for compliance behaviors was 28.90±4.03 in the control group, was at a moderate level. There was significant difference in the scores for compliance behaviors between the two groups(t=-11.225,P = 0.000).In the intervention group, the score for compliance behaviors was 25.96±3.74 before intervention, only was at a moderate level. And the score was 20.00±3.81 after the intervention, which belongs to the high level. There was significant difference in the scores for compliance behaviors between before and after the intervention(t =7.896,P= 0.000).However,in the control group, the score for compliance behaviors was not statistically significant between before and after the intervention(P>0.05).(2)Control rate of hypertension:In the intervention group,it was 54%before the intervention, and was 80%8 weeks after the intervention, and was 94%12 weeks after the intervention. In the control group,it was 60%before the intervention, and was still 60%8 weeks after the intervention, and was 56%12 weeks after the intervention.(3)Blood pressure control level:The data were shown as the normal blood pressure, the normal high blood pressure and the blood pressure distribution. In the intervention group, they were 14%,40%and 46%respectively before the intervention, and were 14%,78%and 8%respectively 8 weeks after the intervention, and were 18%,76%and 6%respectively 12 weeks after the intervention. In the control group, they were 8%,52%and 40%respectively before the intervention, and were 4%,56%and 40%respectively 8 weeks after the intervention, and were 8%,48%and 44%respectively 12 weeks after the intervention.Conclusion:(1)The combined intervention could improve the compliance behavior of patients with hypertension in the general level.(2)The combined intervention on blood pressure in the discharged patients with hypertension was effective.
