Objecive:To use a meta-analysis technique to estimate the clinical effect of zirconia and titanium abutment, in oder to providing guidance for clinical application. Method:The relevant randomized controlled trials were searched from Pub Med,the Cochrane Library, EMbase, Ovid, Wang Fang Data, CNKI, VIP and CBM databases up to June,2014.After data extraction and quality evaluation of included trials, then meta-analysis was conducted using Rev Man 5.2 software. Results:A total of eleven articles were found to meet the eligibility criteria, involving 286 patients,605 abutments were included, test group(n=290,zirconia abutment),control group(n=315,titanium abutment). The results of meta-anaylsis showed that:①Compare to titanium abutment, zirconia abutment can reduce the Probing pocket depth [SMD=-0.40,95%CI(-0.67,-0.12),P<0.05],with siginificant differences.②As to the bone loss, there was no significant difference between the two groups [MD=-0.54,95%CI(-0.13,0.04),P>0.05],③As to the gingival recession, there was no significant difference between the two groups[SMD=0.14,95%CI(-0.40, 0.68),P>0.05],④As to the color of peri- implant mucosa, there was no significant difference between the two groups [MD=-0.14,95%CI(-5.03, 4.75),P>0.05]. Conclusion:Although zirconia abutments have certain advantages, but considering the influence of the price and the strength, titanium abutments still are the mainstream of clinical implant prosthesis choice.Due to the quantity and quality limitation of included studies, more large sample and, high quality RC Ts are required to further verify this systematic review conclusion. |
