Object:To compare the efficacy of post-meal sequential therapy for eradicating H. pylori(Hp) infection with non-sequential therapy. Methods:The patients were randomly divided into post-meal sequential group with esomeprazole+amoxicillin immediately after meal+clarithromycin till two hour after meal+colloidal bismuth pectin capsules till two hour after lunch and about 11 pm, and non-sequential therapy group with esomeprazole together with colloidal Bismuth Pectin about 0.5h before meal+amoxicillin together with clarithromycin immediately after meal. Collected the unsuccessful Case with non-sequential therapy were turned into post-sequential therapy once again after 30 days. Results :The intention-to-treat(ITT) and per protocol(PP) analysis of Hp eradication rates were 93.8% in post-meal sequential group and 85.4% in non-sequential group respectively(P<0.05). The Hp eradication rates of PP were 97.9% with post-meal sequential group and 89.8% with non-sequential group respectively(P<0.05). The Hp eradication rate with post-sequential therapy was 54.12 % once again in failure cases received with non-sequential therapy.Conclusion:Post-meal sequential standard quadruple therapy for Hp eradication rate is better than non-sequential therapy, and is still valid in failure cases received with non-sequential therapy.
