BACKGROUND:Depression is a traditional Chinese medicine “melancholia” category, and the acupuncture treatment has a good effect on the disease.Methods:150 patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention who had been diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome were randomized into treatment group(n=23) and control group(n=22), and respectively received psychotherapy and Chine se medicine acupuncture treatment.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Two months later, the levels of low-density lipoproteicholesterol and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein were lower in the treatment group, andscores on Hamilton depression rating scale were also lower in the treatment group. Thesefindings indicate that acupuncture treatment has a better effect than psychotherapy in the treatment of depression in acute coronary syndrome patients after percutaneous coronary interventiond.
