Objective:To provide the evidence of the relationship between hypertension and TCM Syndromes by investigation the distribution of TCM Syndromes of 300 hypertension patients and investigation the relationship of the ocula fundus arteriosclerosis, the carotid artery intimal thickening, the microalbuminuria and TCM syndrome type. Methods:Collected 300 hypertension patients whose ages is between 18- 75 years old and 15 healthy subjects selected as normal control group. By standard questionnaire, the research collected age, gender, laboratory results and syndromes graded-quantitative data:1.According to the " Guiding principle of clinical research on new drugs of traditional Chinese Medicine ", irascibility hyperactivity type, phlegm dampness type, yin and yang two deficiency, and yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity were established single syndrome as standard syndromes as standard syndromes.2.The patients were measured respectively to testing blood pressure, grading of ocula fundus arteriosclerosis, carotid intima-media thickness of carotid artery ultrasound, urine trace protein. The data collection and statistical analysis analys the differences between different syndrome types, laboratory results, and the fundus arteriosclerosis, IMT, MAU in the two groups, to discuss the related factors about the effects of hypertension in patients with hypertension and its complications.Results:1.Collected 300 patients with hypertension of the Affiliated Hospital of Gansu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Gansu province people’s Hospital, a hospital affiliated to Lanzhou University, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Lanzhou University, including 176 cases of male, female 124 cases, the average age was 57.97 士 9.192 years old.2.We measured the blood pressure and confirmed the TCM syndromes of the hypertension patients. According to the highest resting blood pressure the hypertension patients were divided into 1 grade, 2 grade,3 grade. There were 92 cases of Yin and yang two deficiency(30.7%) and 79 cases of phlegm dampness patients(26.3%) and 67 patients of Yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity(22.0%) and 63 cases of hyperactivity of liver fire syndrome(21.0%)3.The ocula fundus arteriosclerosis: accordingt to Keith-Wagnar grading,we divided the patients into 4 grades by Ophthalmoscope. Compared with the normal control group, there were significant differences in patients with different TCM syndromes, the hypertension patients in Yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity and liver fire syndrome was significantly higher than that in phlegm dampness patients and phlegm dampness type, there was statistical significance.4.The carotid intima-media thickness(IMT): IMT of phlegm dampness type hypertension is significantly higher than that of other TCM Syndromes hypertension(p<0.01), there was statistical significance.5.The micro albuminuria: MAU of phlegm wetness type hypertension is higher than that of other TCM Syndromes hypertension, with statistical significance(p<0.05).Conclusion:There is a certain correlation between the TCM Syndromes of the patients with hypertension and ocula fundus arteriosclerosis, IMT, MAU. Two Yin and yang deficiency and phlegm dampness patients are more than others in the distribution of TCM syndromes. Ocula fundus arteriosclerosis in hyperactivity of liver fire syndrome and Yin and yang two deficiency TCM syndrome type hypertension are worse than other types hypertension. IMT and MAU in the phlegm dampness type hypertension patients are more than other groups. Ocula fundus arteriosclerosis and IMT and MAU in hypertension patients with four kinds of TCM syndromes have different features.
