| Objective: To investigate the change of serum leptin and the relationshipbetween serum leptin levels and inteima-media thickness in newly diagnosedtype2diabetic patients. So as to provide the basis to prevent and treat themacrovascular disease in patients with type2diabetes.Methods: According to the diabetes diagnosis and parting standard of1999WHO,we option sixty patients of type2diabetes were analyzed as cases groupand30healthy persons identified as the controlled group. By clinicalexamination the patients did not have autoimmune disease, blood systemdiseases, thyroid disease, severe infections, rheumatic heart disease, primarycardiomyopathy, primary kidney disease, severe liver disease, malignant tumor,no acute complications of diabetes, no TZD drugs and glucocorticoids, contraceptive medical history. The first-degree relatives of the90peoplewithout diabetes history and endocrine metabolic disease. Reason of waistline(male:85cm,female:80cm)and WHR(male:0.90;female:0.85),we divided it into two groups containing30cases on the basis of pure diabetesand30cases on the combination of central obesity. There is no difference between gender composition. Serum leptin, fasting plasma glucose, glycosylatedhemoglobin, fasting c peptide, triglyceride, cholesterol, high density lipoproteincholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, blood pressure,BMI andwaistline level were examined in three groups. For high resolution ultrasoundscanning to bilateral carotid IMT,we detected metabolic, leptin,MIT level andanalyzed them relevance.Results:(1)Serum leptin level in T2DM was significantly increased comparedwith control group, the combination of central obesity group was significantlyincreased compared with pure diabetes.(2)Correlation analysis shows, leptin and IMT,BMI,gender, age werepositively correlated.(3)leptin and the change of IMT were positively correlated.Conclusions:(1)New-onset type2diabetes of leptin level was increasedsignificantly with nondiabetic, the combination of central obesity increased inpatients with type2diabetes mellitus was more significant.(2)Type2diabetes mellitus patients with an increased incidence ofatherosclerosis.(3)Type2diabetes mellitus patients with serum leptin is related toatherosclerosis, and it can be used as an important prediction indicator ofcardiovascular.(4)For high leptin levels of patients with diabetes, especially with a centralobesity, we can not only by strictly controlling blood sugar to reduce the risk ofvascular events. |
