Objective:To observe the curative effect of Acetyl-cysteine combined with triple therapy for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori.Method:Seventy-six patients for treatment in the gastroenterology outpatient department of Provincial hospital of Fujian from June 2014 to December 2014 were selected, who were diagnosed explicitly chronic gastritis or peptic ulcer with H.pylori infection by electronic gastroscope. The patients were randomly separated into two groups(the experimental group and the control group) and each group had thirty-eight patients. The patients in control group used triple therapy of esomeprazole 20 mg bid, clarithromycin 0.5g bid and ornidazole 0.5g bid for 14 day, while the patients in experimental group used the above-mentioned triple therapy and Acetyl-cysteine 600 mg tid for 14 day. 13 C urea breath test was reexamined at least 4 weeks after treatment to observe the comparison of Helicobacter pylori eradication rate between the experimental group and the control group. We had record adverse reaction of the drugs and contrasted the adverse reaction rate between the experimental and the control group.Results:1 General information:The experimental group had 38 patients with 16 female and 22 men. The mean age of the patients was 49.3±12.0 years old. There were 26 patients with chronic gastritis and 12 patients with peptic ulcer in this group. The control group also had 38 patients with 20 female and 18 men. The mean age of the patients was 46.8±11.3 years old.. There were 30 patients with chronic gastritis and 8 patients with peptic ulcer in control group. None of patients was lost or terminated the experiment both in experimental group and in control group. Patients in this two groups showed no significant difference in gender, age, disease distribution(P>0.05)(Table 2). 2 The comparison of Helicobacter pylori eradication rate: There were thirty-eight patients in the experimental group. The infection was eradicated in 33 of the 38 patients(86.8%) in this group and in only 22 of the 38 patients in the control group(65.8%). The Helicobacter pylori eradication rate in experimental group was higher than that in control group, and the difference between experimental group and control group was statistically significant(P=0.031)(Table 3). In experimental group, the H.pylori eradication rates of gastric ulcer patients was 80.8%(21/26) and that of duodenal ulcer patients was 100%(12/12). The Helicobacter pylori eradication rates of gastric ulcer patients was higher than that of duodenal ulcer patients, but there was no significant difference(P=0.103)(Table 4). 3 Adverse reactions of the drugs: In experimental and control group, the main adverse reaction of the drugs were nausea, vomit and abdominal distension. All adverse reactions had not be given special treatment and gradually disappeared after stopping the treatment. The adverse reaction rates of this two group were 5% both(Table 4).Conclusion:Acetylcysteine combined with triple therapy(esomeprazole, clarithromycin and Ornidazole) can improve the eradication rate of Helicobacter pylori without increasing the relevance of adverse reactions of the drugs.
