Objective:To compare short term treatment effects, untoward reaction and the 1 year survival proportion of inoperable patiens with gastric cancer, who were treated respectively by two distrinct remedy chemical techniques: capecitabin combined with cisplatin(XP scenario) or fluorouracil combined with cisplatin(PF scenario)and both combined IMRT in the corresponding period.Methods:Twenty-seven inoperable patients who cannot recieve operation on account of various reasons(such as physiclal status, unwilling to be operated and with other surgical contraindication) were splited into XP scenario(14 cases)and PF scenario(13 cases), both of the two groups were used 6MV-X ray to IMRT, DT 4500 c Gy/1.8Gy, from Monday to Friday. Keeping accounting corporeity circumstances and blood biochemical parameters in the course of treatment, and redress betimes. One month after the termination of treatment, we counterchecked the patients by digestive tract imaging and abdominal CT, if conditions permited, enhancement CT was given, aiming at contrasting the change of focus before and after treatment better. One year survival proportion was obtained by periodic review or telephone follow-up.Results:1. No one aborted from the treatment;2. The cardinal untoward effect were gastrointestinal reactions, arrest of bone marrow and hand-foot syndrome. The incidence of nausea and vomiting in XP scenario and PF scenario were 35.7% and 84.6% respectively(p=0.018); the incidence of arrest of bone marrow were 42.9% and 84.6%(p=0.022) in the two scenarios; that of hand-foot syndrome were 78.6% and 23.1%(p=0.007); and diarrhoea were 35.7% and 38.5%(p=1.000). In all the cases included in the analysis, the most serious untoward effect were grade III. These cases counted only 7.4%, who could recieve continuous therapy after symptomatic and supportive treatment;3. The short term effective percentage of XP scenario and PF scenario were 78.6%and 69.2%(p=0.678);4. The 1 year fraction surviving of XP scenario and PF scenario were 42.9% and15.4%(p=0.024).Conclusion:1. The main untoward reaction of XP scenario associating with IMRT was hand-foot syndrome, the gastrointestinal reactions and arrest of bone marrow were lighter than PF scenario associating with IMRT;2. The short term effective percentage of XP scenario and PF scenario had no statistical difference, but XP scenario had a higher 1 year survival proportion.
