Objective:To explore the effect of the platelets, white blood cells, platelets/white blood cells on the prognosis of patients with sepsis Method: Retrospective analysis of 116 cases of sepsis patients in our hospital ICU, all patients when they admitted to the hospital after the next morning were extracted venous blood 5ml as test samples, testing blood platelet count(PLT), white blood cell count(WBC) and calculating platelet/ white blood cell(PLT/WBC) ratio. The grouping method ① patients with sepsis according to 28 d prognosis were divided into survival group and death group; ② the severity of sepsis were divided into sepsis group, severe sepsis group and septic shock group; ③ the APACHEII score of the patients with sepsis in our hospital is divided into three groups, group A(APAHE II score<10), group B(APAHE II score10-19) and group C(APAHE II score>20).Comparison of different groups of WBC, PLT and PLT/WBC, we used person correlation analysis method and evaluation method of WBC, PLT PLT/WBC and APAHE II score, and used ROC curve to evaluate the predictive value of WBC, PLT and PLT/WBC levels on prognosis. Results:(1) The WBC, APACHE II scores in the survival group were significantly lower than the death group, p < 0.001; The PLT and PLT/the WBC levels in the survival group were significantly higher than the death group, p < 0.001;(2) The WBC, PLT, PLT/the WBC and mortality in sepsis, severe sepsis group and the group of patients with sepsis shock were significantly statistical significance when comparing two, p < 0.001; PLT, PLT/the WBC and mortality of sepsis group was highest, secondly by severe sepsis group times, sepsis shock group at the last, mortality and the WBC, minimum sepsis group, severe sepsis group of times, the highest sepsis shock group, p< 0.001;(3)About the WBC, PLT, PLT/the WBC and mortality in group A, group B and group C, we compared any two, both P < 0.001; PLT and PLT/ WBC level was highest in group A and secondly by group B, last by group C, the WBC and mortality, minimum group A and group B, group C, p < 0.001;(4) Correlation analysis indicated the level of WBC, PLT, PLT/the WBC and APAHE II score have significantly positive correlation, the correlation coefficients were 0.295,0.361, 0.611, p < 0.01).(5)The roc curve analysis of the WBC, PLT and PLT/the WBC levels predict prognosis area under the curve of the WBC is 0.510, PLT0.735, PLT/the WBC was 0.872 Conclusion: 1) When we diagnosis sepsis, the WBC, PLT, PLT/WBC level and their change degree can be used as early warning indicators of the severity and prognosis of sepsis. 2) The WBC, PLT, PLT/WBC and APAHE II in the patients with sepsis were well correlated with. 3)The level of PLT/WBC, PLT and WBC levels in patients with sepsis have a better predictive value about their prognosis.
