Objective: At present, The study of blood uric acid(UA) influence on type 2 diabetes mellitus macrovascular disease is relatively common, but for the study of uric acid and blood platelet index are relatively rare, the correlation between the text research through analyzing the changes of carotid artery in type 2 diabetes patients with lesions and serum uric acid and blood platelet index, to discuss the change serum uric acid and blood platelet index in patients with carotid atherosclerosis in type 2 diabetes mellitus and its function in the formation of whether there are differences in different patients, so we decide to find the early carotid atherosclerosis in type 2 diabetes mellitus and prevention and cure for theoretical basis. Methods: Choosen our hospital patinents with type 2 diabetes mellitus as the research object, defined as the study group, according to the carotid artery intima-media thickness in patients with level is divided into 2 sub groups: carotid artery thickening group(internal carotid artery intima-media thickness: >1.0mm,≤1.2mm), a total of in 138 cases. Carotid artery thickening disease plaque group(carotid intima-media thickness >1.2mm), a total of 154 cases. The control group was healthy people over the same period came to our hospital for health examination, a total of 236 cases. Recording two groups of fasting blood glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, blood serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol, glycosylated hemoglobin, body mass index, blood uric acid, mean platelet volume, platelet volume, platelet distribution width, platelet count, blood pressure, body mass index. Contrast(1) study group and control group, fasting blood glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, blood serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol, glycosylated hemoglobin, body mass index, blood uric acid, mean platelet volume, platelet hematocrit, platelet count, platelet distribution width difference.(2) carotid artery thickening group, carotid artery thickening disease plaque group of blood uric acid, mean platelet volume, platelet hematocrit, platelet count, platelet distribution width difference.Results:(1) There were no statistical significance in study group and control group total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, blood serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol, body mass index, platelet hematocrit, platelet count, platelet distribution width(P>0.05) difference.(2) study group and the control group of glycosylated hemoglobin, fasting blood glucose, blood uric acid, there were statistically significant differences in mean platelet volume.(3) carotid artery thickening in the group of uric acid levels and non increased, MPV were significant difference(P<0.05), carotid artery thickening in the group of uric acid levels and non increased, no significant differences in PLT, PCT, PDW(P>0.05).(4) carotid artery plaque thickening disease group and non increased uric acid levels, MPV were significant difference(P<0.05), carotid artery thickening in the group of uric acid levels and non increased, no significant differences in PLT, PCT, PDW(P>0.05).Conclusion: In the early carotid artery disease, carotid artery intima-media thickening stage, namely, the level of serum uric acid in patients with type 2 diabetes is elevated. In the period of the formation of carotid plaque, serum uric acid level in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus increased significantly. There is a certain correlation shows that the two. Blood uric acid in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(UA) is an independent risk factor of carotid artery lesions, suggesting that the blood uric acid(UA) levels can be used as a predictive peripheral vascular disease in patients with type 2 diabetes indicators. In addition, the study also found that, the changes of platelet index and carotid artery lesions in the blood uric acid(UA) increased also has certain correlation.
