Aging is complicated and irreversible in life, which is characteristic of structural recession and functional degeneration. In recent years, more and more people have realized the important of anti-aging and paid more attention to the research on the anti-aging medicines, especially the anti-aging natural products.In vitro antioxidation activities of NAC, flos sophorae extractions, pomegranate extractions, ginseng flower extractions, Arctium Lappa P.E extractions, Reishi Mushroom P.E extractions, fucoidin, flavonoids, olive leaf and silybin were tested by DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) and ABTS (the [2,2’-azino-bis-3-ethlbenzonthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid] diammonium salt) assays, superoxide free radical system and reducing capacity system. The senescence associated-β-galactoside(SA-β-gal) expression was detected by histochemistry staining in the model assays of H2O2-treated skin fibroblast cells. The result showed that NAC, pomegranate extractionsNAC both had a good ability of scavenging free radicals. Pomegranate extractions, fucoidin showed a good anti-aging effect that could resist H2O2-induced cell senescence, reducing the number of β-gal-staining positive cells significantly.In addition, this assay also studied the anti-aging effect of pomegranate extractions and fucoidin in the anti-aging eye creams. The result showed that the anti-aging eye creams had the effect of smoothing fine wrinkles and great anti-wrinkle effect.
