Objective: This research will combine the advantages of the traditional and modern medicine, select the comprehensive therapy of TCM based on the syndrome differentiation of TCM,thus to reach soft tissue balance in the operations according to individual differences and use it reasonably in TKA and explore its mechanism and advantages, therefore provide a theoretical basis for the wider clinical practice in future. This research also aims to contribute to the selection of a more reasonable and effective comprehensive TCM treatment and soft tissue release methods, consequently make a contribution to the modernization of TCM and the cause of integration of traditional and western medicine; Methods: Choose patients with mild to moderate serious KOA with surgical indications treated in our clinical departments from 2013.01 to 2014.12 as research subjects. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria of case studies, select 50 knees of 50 patients and randomly divide them into one treatment group and one control group, with 25 cases in each group, according to the random number table corresponding to the patients’ hospital admission order. All the patients in the two groups underwent TKA operated by the same group of doctors. Patients in treatment group received preoperative differentiation orthopedic manual therapy and intraoperative soft tissue lysis, while the control group received conventional lysis. After the surgeries, all the patients were treated properly according to the conventional postoperative treating process. The second day after the surgeries, all the patients were guided to do some modest functional exercise. Treatment group patients were offered Chinese medicine and orthopedics manual therapy. After two week’s proper wound dressing, we removed the sutures according to the wound healing conditions and use the Chinese medicine fumigation to treat the diseased limbs. Assess the clinical curative effect of all the patients in the two groups with AKS two weeks, three weeks, one month, three months, six months and one year after the surgeries respectively.Result: 1. The comparison of the two groups before surgery, in terms of AKS, showed no statistical significance(P>0.05).2.The difference showed in the comparison of the two groups conducted two weeks, three weeks, one month after surgery, in terms of AKS, was statistically significant(P<0.05).3. The comparison of the two groups conducted three months, six months, one year after surgery, in terms of AKS, showed no statistical significance(P>0.05)4. The difference showed in the comparison of operation duration between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion: 1. Knee osteoarthritis TKA combined with rehabilitation therapy, relieving swelling, pain and deformity for patients with valgus knee osteoarthritis and underwent TKA in a short time.2. Individualized soft tissue balance applied in the process of the TKA for valgus KOA patients could accurately and efficiently correct the imbalance of soft tissue status and had the clinical effects of small trauma, less bleeding and high precision. Thus to avoid the excessive exposure and trauma in lysis and postoperative joint instability3. Knee osteoarthritis TKA combined with rehabilitation therapy no obvious extension of operation time.4. Knee osteoarthritis TKA combined with rehabilitation therapy didn’t cause extra medical expense.5. Knee osteoarthritis TKA combined with rehabilitation therapy with TKA shortened their convalescence period.6. Knee osteoarthritis TKA combined with rehabilitation therapy had few side effects and no adverse reactions, it’s safe, reliable and is worth spreading.7.It can make contributions to the modernization of TCM and the cause of integration of traditional and western medicine.
