Objective: To introduce Nursing Research Self-Efficacy Scale(NURSES), and we provide objective and quantitative status of self-efficacy assessment tools for nurses to evaluate their level of nursing research self-efficacy by cross-cultural adaptation and reliability and validity. Then, the Chinese version of the nursing research self-efficacy scale is preliminary used the study of nurses in clinical nursing practice, investigating the condition of clinical nursing research self-efficacy of nurses, and to analyze the relevant factors, to provide an objective basis for improving nurses clinical nursing research self-efficacy levels. Methods: The introduction of nursing research self-efficacy Scale(NURSES), we revise the scale through translation, back translation, cultural adaptation and other steps and make its localization; On the basis of the pre-survey, we select in line with inclusion and exclusion criteria of 260 clinical nurses of many hospitals in Jinan to analyze its reliability and validity, which uses an internal consistency coefficient and test-retest reliability to detect the reliability testing of Chinese version NURSES, applies content validity, criterion validity and construct validity to detect the scale’s validity; then we apply the revised good Chinese version NURSES scale to qualified clinical nurses, reliability and validity of the scale again. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis software SPSS 21.0 and Epicalc 2000, t test, ANOVA, two independent samples Mann-Whitney U test or more independent samples Kruskal-Wallis H test of non-parametric tests, and analyzes clinical nurses’ level of nursing research self-efficacy and related factors at the same time.Results:(1) In this study, the introduction of nursing research self-efficacy scale(NURSES), a total of five dimensions, namely obtaining science-based knowledge resources, critically read and evaluate quantitative research literature, critically read and evaluate qualitative research literature, understanding and applying theory and collective research efficacy, a total of 38 entries, with item analysis and reliability and validity, the scale has good reliability and validity.(2) In nursing practice activities, the related factors of nursing research self-efficacy about nurses include demographic information and conduct of research.Among them, the general demographic information includes ages, work experience, education levels, echnical post title and job title. Research behavior include nursing research courses, the effect of research activities, the frequency of scientific lectures, the time of reading literature, the frequency of sharing research information, hospitals library, hospitals biblio-graphic databases, the number of research meetings, continuing education courses, writing papers, compilation books, patents and participation presided topics.(3) The scores of each dimension about nursing self-efficacy of clinical nurses in China was lower than that in the United States. The differences were statistically significant between China and the United States. Conclusion:The Chinese version of the nursing research self-efficacy has good reliability and validity, and it can be applied to assessment of nursing research self-efficacy about clinical nurses. The level of the nursing research self-efficacy about nurses in china is generally lower than US findings. It indicate nurses managers need to constantly strengthen scientific research training and cultivation of talents about nurses, the introduction of highly educated professionals or support staff nurse education to enhance and encourage nurses actively engaged in clinical research-related activities, a comprehensive improve the level of nursing research self-efficacy about nurses.
