Objective:By collecting and organizing traditional Chinese medicine literature about pharyngitis and data of the ancient Chinese doctors treating pharyngitis by using prescriptions,explore the Status of Diagnosis and Therapy about Pharyngitis and the Prescription Regularity in Ancient Prescriptions.So as to Providing some useful reference and exploring new train of thought for the pharyngitis theoretical knowledge and the rationality of clinical drug using.Methods:Discuss the name meaning,etiology and pathogenesis,therapeutic principle about pharyngitis by using analytical and comprehensive research methods such as literature.Using the statistical method of frequency analysis,summarize the prescription regularity of the 485 pieces of the external prescriptions and 900 pieces of internal prescriptions.Results:(1) Laryngeal and pharyngeal are different physiologically,but they are related in pathology,If the laryngeal disease the pharyngeal will disease as well. Generalized pharyngitis refers to all the throat disease including mild and severe;narrowed meaning of pharyngitis is single laryngeal disease or with the throat of severe illness.The producing of pharyngitis involves the five viscera and six entrails but for lung and stomach’s total; Exogenous pathogenic factors (in the accountability of toxic heat, fire toxicity) invade mainly,secondly is the weakened body resistance(see more at Yin, blood deficiency less).Follow the principle that acute symptoms, slow the cure.clinical treatment focuses on eliminating pathogens,mainly contains clear heat,purging fire and detoxicating,as well as dispelling wind, eliminating dampness,dispelling cold,moistening dryness,eliminating phlegm and stagnation ect.Both the centralizer, Lord with blood and nourishing Yin, postscript temperatures yi Yang. (2) the prescription regularity in ancient prescriptions about pharyngitis:①485 prescriptions for external use:drugs involved 485 kinds of traditional Chinese herbal drug (covers all types of traditional Chinese medicine), total drug’s frequency of occurrence meters 2947 times; Frequency more than 5% respectively are Toxic insecticidal antipruritic drugs (18.26%), heat clearing drugs (13.23%), resuscitation drugs (12.11%), Pinggan Xifeng drugs (6.89%), promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis (6.35%), removing the necrotic tissue and promoting granulation medicine Sida (6.28%), diaphoretic (6.01%), and resolving phlegm and antiasthmatic (5.02%). Drug use frequency of the top 25 was as follows:borax, borneol, nitrate class, realgar, vitriol, indigo naturalis, musk, mint, Niu Huang, locust, catechu, phellodendron, Coptis, cinnabar, pearl, in white, white muscardine silkworm, licorice, Fritillaria, wick Barilla, frankincense, myrrh, dragon’s blood, bile, pollen typhae, including borneol were used as much as 267 times (9.06%).The four natures of the 25 drugs are more than cold,the five tastes are more than bitter, the meridian tropism is in heart,liver and lung for centering.Modern pharmacological studies have shown that most of they have the function of alleviating pain,antibiosis,sedation,anti-inflammation and so on. ② 900 internal prescriptions,total number of ingredients is 363(covers all types of traditional Chinese medicine), total drug time meters 8735 times; Frequency more than 10% of the order is heat clearing drug (26.7%), followed by tonic (17.2%), diaphoretic (14.25%), phlegm and relieving cough and asthma medicine (10.34%). Drug use frequency in the top 20 in the order:Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Platycodon grandiflorum, figwort root, mint, forsythia, Scutellaria, radix rehmanniae, Fructus Arctii, gardenia, angelica, Poria, Rhizoma Coptidis, Radix Ophiopogonis, honeysuckle flower, dried tangerine peel, Fritillaria, fineleaf schizonepeta herb, pericarpium trichosanthis, borneol, ginseng, including liquorice is using up to 468 times (5.36%). Commonly used 20 drugs are more than four air cold and five tastes bitter, sweet, much to the lung, heart, stomach, spleen,Modern pharmacological studies have shown that most of them have the function of antipyretic,alleviating pain,antibiosis,anti-inflammation and so on.Conclusion:(1)Pharyngitis has broad and narrow sense,but general sense is more relevant to clinical practice.It is (weakened body resistance) evil invasion caused by the pharyngitis, including hot accumulate poison is the main factor of pharyngitis’ formation and increasing.(2)Clearing the throat is the key of treatment of pharyngitis.Especially pay attention to heat clearing and fire purging,it needs to make the best use of the circumstances,and follow the principle that remove the stagnation of fire and drugs should be light and aromatic.(3) The external using prescriptions are mainly attacking poison,eliminating heat and resuscitation,specially for emergency and severe syndrome.Internal prescriptions are mainly attacking poison,eliminating heat and reinforcing deficiency.They can treat not only emergency and severe syndrome but also light and deficiency syndrome.(4)The 25 Chinese medical herbs of external prescriptions and the 20 Chinese medical herbs of external prescriptions prescriptions are more than four air cold and five tastes bitter, sweet, much to the lung, heart, stomach, spleen,Modem pharmacological studies have shown that most of them have the function of antipyretic,alleviating pain,antibiosis,anti-inflammation and so on.(5)For external use,the Bingpeng power and borneol are the most common.Jugeng Decoction and liquorice are most commonly used in external prescriptions.It consistents with the modern clinical treatment of pharyngitis and the modem pharmacological research results,it provides reliable basis for clinical application.
