Objective:To clarify the etiology and pathogenesis of "fever"in Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Disease, analyze the compatibility features and applicative law of prescriptions for the treatment of fever used by warming drugs and prescriptions.Significance:Fever is one of the most common clinical symptoms. The characteristics of fever is different with the change of etiology, the stage of the disease and body corporeity. Under the influence of antagonistic thinking from western medicine, the doctors today always use heat-clearing and detoxicating or anti-bacteria and eliminating in face of fever, ignoring the important effect of warming drugs and prescriptions. To control the symptoms of fever and improving the prognosis of disease, in spite of clear etiology and diagnosis is very important, a large number of clinical cases such as antibiotic resistance or fever of unknown origin can not be solved easily, so it is important to study the valuable experience about the treatment of fever in traditional Chinese medicine. Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Disease is the core of TCM clinic and research. Mainly analyzes the applicative law of prescriptions for the treatment of fever. According to the different nature of main drug, the prescriptions can be divided into three parts:1.Mahuang associated prescription;2.Guizhi associated prescription;3.Fuzi associated prescription.Conclusion:ZHANG Zhongjing always put " fever" into a lot of symptoms. By comprehensive analysis, he can judge the growth and decline of the good and evil forces, the sufficiency and deficiency of Yang-qi. Compared with the cold drugs and prescriptions, warm drugs and prescriptions played a much more important role in the treatment of fever. We should tell the differences of each prescription in treating fever from fever type,constitution,accompanied symptom and so on.
