| Objective The study is designed to observe and analyze the clinical efficacy by comparing Qin Bowei’s herbal paste with tibolone in the treatment of liver and kidney-yin deficiency of menopausal syndromes, thereby evaluating the effect and the safety objectively, learning its mechanism and therapy deeply, exploring superiority of Qin Bowei’s herbal paste for the sake of popularizing its clinical application.Methods Choose 50 patients who had visited in Changzhou TCM Hospital from November in 2013 to March in 2015 and met the diagnostic criteria of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine on liver and kidney-yin deficiency of menopausal syndromes. A randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted. They were average divided into two groups. The test group was given Qin Bowei’s herbal paste, while the control group was given tibolone. They were cured constantly for three months. Then observe the change of clinical symptoms and the indexes of FSH, LH, E2 before and after the treatment. The curative effect was evaluated with the grading method and analyzed statistically.Results Patients’ symptoms in the two groups were improved after treatment(P< 0.05).Among these symptoms, sweat hot flashes, abnormal sensation, insomnia and fatigue of patients in test group were dramatically different(P<0.01). There was no significant difference about the total symptom score between the test group and the control group (P>0.05).After treatment, sex hormone FSH and LH werer higher and E2 were highe in both the test group and the control group, but the difference was not remarkable(P>0.05). The total effective rate of the test group was 80% and that of the control group was 64%.There was no distinct difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Qin Bowei’s herbal paste takes an evident and safe effect on alleviating the symptoms of menopausal syndromes. There is no significant difference in comparison with tibolone. Qin Bowei’s herbal paste is effective for menopausal syndromes. |
