Investigation On The Clinical Normal Values Of The Whole Ricketts Analysis About Cephalometry Of Thehan Nationality Adolescents In Changchun Area

Objective：To investigate the clinical normal values of the wholeRicketts analysis about Cephalometry of the Han nationality adolescentswith normal occlusion in Changchun area and to compare the craniofacialcharacteristics between males and females.By do this,We can supplementthe insufficient of present Ricketts analysis of Changhun area and provideguideline for orthodontic diagnosis、treatment planning and prognosis；In contrast to other analysis methods, Ricketts analysis has its uniqueadvantages, such as growth forecast and prognosis judgement,by which,itcan improve the odds of orthodontic treatment and decrease the rate ofrecurrence.Method：Students in elementary and middle schools of changchunwere extensively surveyed,selection criteria:(1) The country of birth ofeach subject who is Han nationality adolescent is Changchun of Jilinprovince;(2)The dental is healthy,,no obvious dental decay or defect;(3)Individual normal occlusion (complete dentition except for the thirdmolar teeth; molar relationship: Neutral relationship; canierelationship:neutral relationshipl, normal anterior overbite and overjet,good occlusalcontact of upper and lower dentition;(4) The frontal and side view ofsoft tissue is symmetric, labial has normal morphology and function; (5)No temporomandibular joint disease(TMDs);(6)No history of bruxism,no unilateral chewing habit,no other oral bad habit;(7)NO themaxillofacial and neck trauma history;(8) No orthodontic treatment ororthognathic surgery history;(9) No systemic disease.65adolescents:30males,35females(males’s average age is14.07±1.72;females’s averageage is14.34±1.43)with normal occlusion were selected. Cephalometricalfilms were gathered for each subject.The landmarks andcephalometric planes were determined,measurements for Ricketts awerecarried out with dolphin17.0software.Datas from65sbujects werestatistically analysised by SPSS17.0software with average±standarddeviation(X±S),To investigate the clinical normal values of the wholeRicketts analysis about Cephalometry of the Han nationalityadolescents with normal occlusion in Changchun area.The differencesbetween males and Females was Statistically analysis by t testing.A levelof significance of5%was assigned and P value was determined.Result：the clinical normal values of the whole Ricketts analysisabout Cephalometry of the Han nationality adolescents with normalocclusion in Changchun area were obtained.Ricketts analysis revealedthat except for A-NPog、FH-NA、Xi-Pm、Anterior Cranial Length,thereare not statistically differences in other values between males andfemales of the subjects (P<0.05).Conclusion：The investigation on the clinical normal values of the whole Ricketts analysis about Cephalometry of the Han nationalityadolescents with normal occlusion in Changchun area can be used toprovide guideline for orthodontic diagnosis、treatment planning andprognosis in Changchun area.The Ricketts analysis Revealed:There areno statistical significance of the factors about dental relationships、dental-skeletal Relationship and esthetic.For maxillo-mandibularrelationships:A-NPog、cranio-facial relationship:FH-NA、deep skeletalstructure：Xi-Pm、Anterior Cranial Length have significant differencebetween males and females,males>females,indicated that, Rickettsanalysis of the Han nationality adolescents in Changchun area has somedifference between males and females,therefore,orthodontist shoudfollow different diagnostic criteria when making orthodontic diagnosis、treatment planning and prognosis...
