ObjectiveTo report retrospectively analyzed results of endovascular wide-necked aneurysmtreatment comparing stent-assisted coiling with coiling without stents at our hospital in theyear of2014.MethodsIn this retrospectively reviewed case series, wide-necked aneurysms were grouped asstent-assisted coiling (A) vs coiling alone (B).ResultIn40patients,40aneurysms were treated by group as follows: A=29and B=11, therewere significantly lower frequencies of recurrence(A vs B=10.3%vs45.5%, P=0.013).Herewas no statistically significant difference in bleeding events (A vs B=10.3%vs9.1%,P=0.096).Here was no statistically significant difference in thromboembolic events events (Avs B=6.9%vs9.1%, P=0.814). Here was no statistically significant difference in themodified Rankin Scale outcome score which used to assess the prognosis(A vs B=0.55±0.86vs0.36±0.67, P=0.520).Conclusion1. Stent-assisted aneurysm treatment results in lower frequencies of recurrence thannon-stent-assisted treatment.2. Stent-assisted aneurysm treatment will not increase comparable event rates and hasno effect on outcomes.3. Stent-assisted aneurysm treatment is a valuable procedure for intracranialwide-necked aneurysm therapy.
