Object: Herb-partitioned moxibustion on the navel and flour-partitioned moxibustion on the navel were selected to observe the different influences on clinical symptoms and the degree of pain of patients with chronic pelvic pain caused by Sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease(SPID), and to evaluate the efficacy of herb-partitioned moxibustion on the navel.Methods: 30 patients with chronic pelvic pain caused by SPID were selected and divided randomly into two groups,15 in each group. The scores of clinical symptoms and SF-MPQ were observed before treatment and after treatment.To compare the curative effects between the two groups.Results: Herb-partitioned moxibustion on the navel and flour-partitioned moxibustion have undergone significant changes on clinical symptoms. There is significant difference between herb-partitioned moxibustion on the navel with flour-partitioned moxibustion on hypogasttralgia, unusual leucorrhoea, fatigue, complexion changes. Herb-partitioned moxibustion on the navel could significantly improve the scores of SF-MPQ of patients. It has difference on emotion Pain Rating Index(PRI), total PRI and visual analogus scale(VAS) of the patients with flour-partitioned moxibustion. There was no difference on the number of words chosen and present pain intensity(PPI).The herb-partitioned moxibustion on the navel was better than flour-partitioned moxibustion on SF-MPQ.Conclusion: Both groups could eliminate the clinical symptoms and the scores of SF-MPQ, while herb-partitioned moxibustion on the navel group had better effects.
